Once known as a satellite district and sometimes referred to as Mina Jebel Ali, this part of Dubai is a continuously growing region slowly gaining more significance. There are a handful of mosques spread across different areas in the district. There is Masjid Ruqaya, Masjid Handalath bin Abi Umar and a few others in the Jebel Ali Industrial Area. There is also the beautiful Jebel Ali Beach Masjid and New East Accommodation Mosque outside that area along with several others.

For those who follow other faiths, there is Guru Nanak Darbar, the first ISO-certified Sikh Gurudwara in the Jebel Ali Village. Reaching there may take anywhere between 15 to 25-minutes depending on which part of this large district you are coming from. There are also several churches in the same area right across the temple. St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, also specifically called as Jebel Ali Church deserves a mention here. Also, you can find many other options such as United Christian Church of Dubai, Dubai Mar Thoma Church and St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church. These are accesible in under 17 to 20 minutes from the residential side of the development.

As for schooling facilities, residents will never run out of options. For preschoolers, there are many nurseries and primary schools in Jebel Ali Dubai such as. Little Woods, Bubbles and Giggles Nursery and Jebel Ali Village Nursery. Hamilton Primary School is also a notable option here.

There is also a ballet school here called Harmony Ballet & Music Centre. Moreover, there is a variety of other options within and outside the community. Jebel Ali School offers the UK curriculum. Another reputable option for those who prefer UK curriculum is The Winchester School within the area. Delhi Private School is also one of the popular schools following the Indian curriculum.

There is also the Greenfield Community School (IB system) in the neighbouring community. For photo enthusiasts, there is the Nikon School Dubai that provides a series of courses aiming to enhance the technical and creative skills of photographers. Older students can head to one of the universities part of the Knowledge Village, roughly 20 minutes from the area.

When it comes to healthcare facilities, there are several clinics and hospitals to be found nearby. There is the Cedars Jebel Ali International Hospital, LiveCare Clinic, a branch of Aster Clinic and more similar clinics in proximity.

The enormous community starts in the vicinity of Jebel Ali Village with Dubai Investments Park on its adjacent side. It is also next to Al Maktoum International Airport and close to the phenomenal Dubai Parks & Resorts that is home to some exhilarating theme parks such as the Hollywood inspired Motiongate Dubai.

There is also the fairly new shopping and leisure destination in a quaint village theme developed by Meraas, The Outlet Village located just next to Dubai Parks and Resorts. It is a Tuscan-themed space packed with luxury brands at highly discounted prices. From high-end Italian stores and classic French fashion to several American brands and quirkier labels, there are more than 500 brands in The Outlet Village, all at affordable prices.

When it comes to dining, there is an abundance of restaurants in Jebel Ali to meet your tastes along with several cafes and an array of fast-food joints. You can find your calling from the Mezban Hyderabad Restaurant, Pepper House Restaurant, Qasr Al Jabal Restaurant, Aziz Afghan Restaurant, Pret to Go and several others.

Some of the cafes you can find are Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Lounge Café, Artisan Café, Caribou Coffee and more. And some of the fast-food joints you can find are a McDonald’s Drive Through, KFC, Marrybrown, and others.

For the ones that love some coastal fun, there is the Jebel Ali Open Beach, one of the best public beaches in Dubai. It is located in between the private beach of Jebel Ali Resort & Spa and the Lama Beach Club. The beach can only be reached by car and is known for being a suitable place for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Also, it is found to be suitable for quite a range of things such as a quiet family gathering around BBQ or for wild jet-ski adventure.

A prominent industrial area, a free zone and a massive residential development, Jebel Ali is easy to locate close to Dubai Marina and Dubai Investments Park. The major highlight of the area is Ibn Battuta Gate and Ibn Battuta Mall in the vicinity of Jebel Ali Village. It takes around 20 minutes from the Ibn Battuta Gate to reach the centre of Mina Jebel Ali. The community is home to some exclusive leisure spots and also, residents have access to the popular entertainment venues close by.

Another one of the notable landmarks is the second of the wondrous man-made islands by Nakheel, Palm Jebel Ali, which has been on hold in its construction. For a fun evening with family, one can also head to Bollywood Parks Dubai right opposite Palm Jebel Ali.

There aren’t any known conventional parks in Jebel Ali Dubai. However, some of the epic theme parks in Dubai are just next door at the Dubai Parks & Resorts such as the Bollywood Parks, Motiongate and Legoland Dubai. For other outdoor activities, the SandBox is a popular favourite destination.

For fitness purposes, you may find several gyms in the nearby Dubai Investment Parks such as Fitness First and Fit4Life. As for beauty salons, there is the Mi Amor, Lengths & Lashes Ladies Beauty Salon and Adel Al Mazrooei gent’s salon. Again, you can find several others in the neighbouring Dubai Investments Park and the Jebel Ali Village both of which may take anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes to reach by car depending upon which part of the large district you are living in.

A little further from the golf resort, there is Jebel Ali Recreational Club home to licensed sports bar and pubs. Besides, the recreational facilities around here include fitness club, pools, dine-in cinema, tennis and squash courts.

The JA Recreational Club hosts many seasonal and weekly events. Residents can attend a variety of activities at the clubhouse such as cocktail parties, live screenings and quiz nights. Family events are also arranged here such as Meet the Neighbour day when residents went to socialise with their families, friends and pets.

Jebel Ali is primarily a vast commercial district and residential areas have only recently started to grow. Thus, you may find that most areas are quite plain and also far from the more happening parts of the city.
