Al Reem is part of Arabian Ranches – a freehold community located in the suburbs of Dubai developed by Emaar Properties. Al Reem was launched in 2005 and completed in 2007 and is the largest enclave in Arabian Ranches. It is divided into Al Reem 1, Al Reem 2 and Al Reem 3. Each of these sub-communities offers their own amenities such as parks, a tennis court, community pools and more.

Al Reem is the largest and most affordable community in Arabian Ranches, this is due to a few factors. It is one of the few sub-communities in Arabian Ranches that contains townhouses/attached villas while other communities boast independent villas. Another factor is that it is located on the eastern end of Arabian Ranches close to the Cityland Mall. Some properties offer views of the mall while others overlook the lake in Al Reem. Public Transportation Near Al Reem

Those relying on public transport will find that even though Al Reem is further away from the city one can still get around. There are two bus stops near the community called Arabian Ranches Al Reem 3 and Arabian Ranches Al Reem 2. These are located near the front gates of the community and would require quite a bit of a walk depending on where you live in Al Reem.

Mall of the Emirates metro station is the closest to the community, roughly 22-minutes away by car. Since it is a gated community, it is not easy to find a taxi. Residents and visitors can order one to their location through the RTA app or rely on other taxi-hailing apps.

AMENITIES, SCHOOLS AND HEALTHCARE

SUPERMARKETS NEAR AL REEM

There is no supermarket in Al Reem, the nearest one would be the Carrefour Supermarket in the Arabian Ranches Retail Centre which is 3 km away or 8-minutes away depending on traffic conditions. Carrefour is one of the top supermarket chains operating in Dubai. There is a small ZOOM convenience store, which is part of the ENOC petrol pump just outside of the Al Reem 3 sub-community.

For larger grocery hauls residents can visit the Spinneys supermarket in Motor City, 14-minutes away and the Carrefour Hypermarket in City Centre Me’aisem, 20-minutes away.

MOSQUES NEAR AL REEM

Masjid Arabian Ranches near Al Reem is located opposite the Arabian Ranches Retail Centre. As a part of the Polo Homes community in Arabian Ranches, there is Masjid Salam, it is a large mosque that is favoured by residents for its Friday prayers. Masjid Salam is at a 11-minute distance from the Al Reem community. The Ranches Souk in Arabian Ranches 2 contains a mosque as part of the community centre. This is roughly 15-minutes away from Al Reem.

OTHER PLACES OF WORSHIP NEAR AL REEM

As Dubai is a city made of residents and visitors of different cultures, one can expect to find many different places of worship in the city. Churches in the Jebel Ali Village area are 25-minutes away, such as Christ Church Jebel Ali, St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and more. Located on the other side of Dubai, the Oud Mehta area is 30-minutes away and houses St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, The Dubai City Church and more.

Hindu residents will have to travel to the Bur Dubai district to visit Hindu temples. Here residents will find the Shiva Temple, Shree Krishna Haveli and ShrinathJi Temple. Residents can also visit the newly opened Hindu Temple in Jebel Ali.

Sikh residents can also visit the large Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Gurudwara next to the churches in Jebel Ali. The religious site is spread over 100,000 sq. ft. and can hold up to 50,000 worshippers. The Buddhist temple in Dubai are the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Temple in Jumeirah 1 and Lankaramaya Temple in Al Garhoud.

There are quite a few educational options near the community.

JESS is one of the best schools in Dubai. It has consistently been rated as ‘outstanding’ by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), which is the governmental agency that regulates and reviews private schools in Dubai. JESS offers the British curriculum from Foundation Stage 1 (FS1) to Year 11 and then the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum for Year 12 and 13. JESS is located in Arabian Ranches near the Alma and Savannah communities. Ranches Primary School offers the British curriculum from FS1 to Year 6.

Many universities are part of Dubai International Academic City (DIAC). Those looking for higher education options can choose from Zayed University UAE, The British University in Dubai (BUiD), Amity University – Dubai Campus and more universities in DIAC. DIAC is located 23-minutes away from Al Reem. Slightly further away at a 27-minute drive is Dubai Knowledge Park (DKP). It is home to many universities and educational institutes. The American University in Dubai is also close to Knowledge Park.

There is a Medi Link Pharmacy in The Retail Centre and a Bin Sina Pharmacy in Layan.

The closest hospital to the Al Reem community is the Mediclinic Parkview Hospital on Umm Suqeim Street (D63). It is located at a distance of about 9 km or 14-minutes by car. Al Zahra Hospital and Saudi German Hospital are both reputable medical facilities in Al Barsha, 25-minutes away.

Al Reem is located on the eastern end of Arabian Ranches it is close to many residential communities and entertainment destinations. If you want to reach pristine beachline or the happening community of JBR, prepare for a 27-minute long drive.

To the east, it is close to leisure attractions such as the theme park IMG Worlds of Adventure and Global Village which is open only during the winter months of Dubai. Al Reem is close to other communities of Arabian Ranches such as Mirador, Savannah and Terra Nova which lies to the west of Al Reem. Towards the north of Al Reem lies the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) highway.

MALLS NEAR AL REEM

There is The Retail Centre which is a small community centre for the residents of Arabian Ranches. It consists of a few stores only, popular options include:

  • Carrefour Market – a supermarket
  • The Custom Shop – a menswear clothing shop
  • Eezi Clean – Dry Cleaner service provider

Here you will find a few retail options such Grand Optics for eyewear and The Custom Shop which is a menswear clothing shop. There are a few other stores such as Eezi Clean which is a dry cleaner’s, a travel agency called Prime Travels and African + Eastern which is an establishment that is permitted to sell alcohol to non-Muslims. There is an Early Learning Centre (ELC) educational toy store for children and a Pets Delight which focuses on items for household pets. In terms of food and beverage options, there is a mix of casual dining restaurants and fast food eateries in the mall.

The Ranches Souk over in Arabian Ranches 2 is a larger community mall. It features many more retail options such as Mother Care, a store for mothers and children, the makeup store MAC and Virgin Megastore which has different sections for quirky items, books, movies, electronics and more. The Ranches Souk is also home to a Magic Planet amusement park which has many games and rides for children.

Other malls nearby include First Avenue Mall in Motor City and My City Centre Al Barsha in Barsha South. Both these malls can be reached within 15-minutes and feature around 30 retail stores and a few food and beverage outlets.

A larger mall near Al Reem is Dubai Outlet Mall, it is located in Dubailand roughly 25-minutes away. It features many retail stores and leading brands offering discounts and offers. A few brands in Dubai Outlet Mall include Adidas, Nike, Coach and Burberry among many others. Some of the best malls in Dubai such as Dubai Marina Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Ibn Battuta Mall are all at a distance of less than 30-minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Cityland Mall, right next to the Al Reem community, under 20-minutes away. The mall is spread over an area of 1.1 million sq. ft. with over 350 retail outlets, 75 food and beverage options, a 12-screen cinema and a central park covering 200,000 sq. ft.

The Ranches Souk has more variety in terms of restaurants. Restaurants include the Arabic eatery Leila, Italian bistro Carluccio’s and Japanese Chez Sushi Restaurant. Cafes include Bateel Café and Paul Café. The only fast food outlet in The Ranches Souk is a McDonald’s, there is also a Caribou Coffee and a Coldstone Creamery present in the mall.

There are only two licensed restaurants in the vicinity, The Ranches Restaurant and Maison Mathis. Both are located in the Arabian Ranches Golf Club and offer a range of international dishes on their menu. Nightlife options in the area is limited to the Dubai Polo Bar in the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club which is just opposite Arabian Ranches and a 14-minute drive from Al Reem. Other licensed venues can be found in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and Dubai Marina.

BEACHES NEAR AL REEM

Most beaches are 30-minutes away from Al Reem. Popular beaches nearby include JBR Beach, Jumeirah Beach and Kite Beach. JBR Beach is located in the bustling district, close to many hotels and restaurants. Jumeirah Beach offers many fitness amenities, separate jogging and cycling tracks and a few restaurants that overlook the water. There are a lot of fun activities to do at the Kite Beach. Kite Beach is known for its food stalls and vibrant atmosphere. There are many leisure attractions such as games and outdoor rides at Kite Beach.

If all you’re looking to do is swim, then the community swimming pools in Al Reem are a good option. There are communal swimming pools in Al Reem 1 and Al Reem 3. A few of the townhouses in Al Reem come with their own private pools as well.

Al Reem is located close to the IMG Worlds of Adventure theme park, which is the largest indoor theme park in the world. It can host up to 20,000 visitors in its five separate zones. It has zones dedicated to rides and games based on the Cartoon Network and Marvel heroes characters. The theme park also has a 12-screen 7-star Novo Cinemas.

Then there is Global Village, a large leisure attraction that features multi-cultural pavilions. The village features vendors from all over the world, there are over 27 pavilions with new additions every year. Global Village has much to offer, visitors can try different cuisines, visit the street markets, enjoy the daily events and experience so much more. Global Village is open in the winter time of Dubai which normally ranges from the end of October to mid-April. These dates are subject to change every year.

There are two sports and leisure venues near Al Reem, the Arabian Ranches Golf Club and the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club. The Arabian Ranches Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 golf course which features a well-maintained desert style championship golf course as well as a training facility for players of all levels. It is a popular location in the Arabian Ranches community to hosts events. The Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club hosts local and international polo events and has two polo fields as well. The stables can accommodate up to 357 horses and offers the highest level of care. The polo club also offers wellness facilities such as a gym, a temperature-controlled swimming pool and a spa.
