Al Bahia is a residenital area on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. Also identified as New Bahia or Lower Bahia, this low profile community is near Al Shahama. A coastal area with mangrove plantations along the coastal strip features spacious apartments and villas. It is a 10-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport, conveniently located along the Abu Dhabi – Al Shahama Road.

Al Bahia residents enjoy various amenities including a pleasant community environment, scenic views, mosques and a cluster of retail shops. Villas and apartments are dotted along long streets with sandy areas and patches of green sideways adding to the beauty of the town.

Bahia Abu Dhabi is in proximity to some important locations in the city. One of them includes the development of Al Raha, a beautiful residential area. It also has an outlet of Carrefour and a few medical centres.

Properties in Al Bahia consists of villas and apartments. These residential properties are mostly offered for rent. Each villa features Emirati architectural design with a front yard, dedicated garden area and parking space. Also, the apartment units are quite spacious and boast modern amenities. These flats are mostly newly built, reflecting white flooring, semi-furnished kitchens and large halls.

Modes of public transportation in Al Bahia include Bus 225. The closest bus station is located at Al Rahba Hospital. Taxis might be hard to find and using private vehicles to get around is preferred.

For bulk grocery shopping, residents can visit popular supermarkets near Al Bahia such as Baniyas Green Grocery and SPAR Express. There are many community mosques in Al Bahia. Al Bahia Mosque is located at a 7-minute drive while Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Mosque is located 13 minutes away. You can also visit ADNOC Mosque in Al Rahba which is popular in the area.

Churches close to the area include New Life Church near Al Bahia which is at a 15-minute drive from Al Bahia. The first Hindu temple will be 15 minutes from Al Bahia when it is complete. Currently, residents can visit the Hindu temples in Bur Dubai.

There are many schools in Al Bahia following different curriculums. Aspen Heights British School is the most popular school in the area, following the British curriculum. Amity International School offers quality education with vast options for extra-curricular activities.

Other popular schools located nearby include Al Shahama School, Al Basma British School, Al Reef Girls School for Basic Education. All these schools are located at an approximately 15-minute drive from Al Bahia. For higher education options, Khawarizmi International College is located in Al Bahia near Deerfield Mall. It is one of the top universities in Abu Dhabi offers bachelor and associate degrees for Business Administration, Hotel Management and other courses.

Healthcare needs of residents are taken care of as there are many clinics and hospitals in Al Bahia. Tabarak Medical Poly Clinic in Shahama is a reputable clinic. SEHA Al Bahia Healthcare Center is another popular clinic that offers medical diagnostic and treatment services. The closest and one of the best government hospitals in Abu Dhabi, Al Rahba Hospital is approximately 10 minutes away from Al Bahia.

Other clinics in Al Bahia include Boulevard Medical Center, Al Sabah Medical Clinic and Tabarak Medical Poly Clinic. Those with pets can visit Emirates Zoo Park pet clinic.

New Shahama and Al Reef are the two well-developed residential areas on the eastern side of Al Bahia. Both of these offer various amenities such as mosques, medical clinics, schools and restaurants. The popular tourist destination Yas Island is on the south. Life at Yas Island is vibrant as the location has several trendy restaurants, hotels, clubs, as well as recreational activities. Al Bahia shares its north-western border with Al Rahba which has spacious apartments for rent along with many facilities.

As it is close to the coastal areas of Abu Dhabi, there are luxurious beaches near Al Bahia. One of the best beaches in Abu Dhabi is Yas Beach is the closest public beach to Al Bahia. The summer program has many activities mostly involving reading, learning new languages and art workshops.

For more events, residents of Al Bahia can visit Yas Island as it is the hub of all entertainment activities. Yas Island hosts many entertainment events such as musical gigs, theatre performances and much more. Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is one of the most popular events that happen every year at the Yas Marina Circuit.
