A notable option nearby for young students is the GEMS Wellington Primary School. Besides Jumeirah, it has branches in other areas including Downtown, DIFC and Bur Dubai. The institute has received a “Very Good” rating from the KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority) and offers the British curriculum from the Foundation Stage until Grade 6. In fact, it is one of the best GEMS British Curriculum Schools in Dubai.

More schools near Port De La Mer are Al Shorouq Private School and JSS Private School. All these nurseries and schools are located in the neighbourhood, at a drive within 20 minutes.

There are a few clinics nearby if you encounter a medical emergency. Arya Clinic and NMC Healthcare are both located nearby, around 8 to 10-minute short drive away. Iranian Hospital is approximately 10 minutes from Port De La Mer.

Port De La Mer is built on the coast of La Mer. The residential buildings overlook Pearl Jumeirah. Nearby developments include DryDocks World Dubai, Port Rashid and Al Mina.

At an 11-minute drive in Jumeirah 1, one can access Mercato Mall which literally means “market” in Italian. Its stunning architecture and the wide range of brand outlets and leisure activities are loved by families, singles and couples alike.

J1 Beach, a revamped version of La Mer Beach, is the new upcoming beach in the neighbourhood. From retail stores to food carts and a waterpark, the beachfront will be a family-friendly holiday spot, available at a few minutes walk.

Those who want to experience an adrenaline rush can head to the J1 Beach and enjoy watersports activities like biking, stand-up paddle boarding and jet skiing. A variety of beach clubs and restaurants are expected to open once the beach is open to the public.

Port De La Mer’s master plan has all the components of a modern community in Dubai. Residential areas are surrounded by tree-lined walkways and there are family parks and playgrounds at short intervals.
