The news of the three night-swimming beaches in Dubai has taken the locals and tourists by storm. The beach strips at Umm Suqeim 1, Jumeirah 1 and Jumeirah 2 are transformed by Dubai Municipality for late-night swimming in Dubai.
According to Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General, Dubai Municipality:
“The new night-swimming beaches are part of Dubai Municipality’s efforts to contribute to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make the emirate the world’s best place to live and visit. The initiative also forms part of the Municipality’s beach development plan aimed at providing distinctive experiences. The new facilities will further raise Dubai’s status as a beach tourism destination.”
FACILITIES AND FEATURES
The beaches are 800 meters long and equipped with floodlights and electronic screens. These features are added to make the night swimming experience for beachgoers fun and hassle-free. The screens display beach safety regulations to create awareness among visitors.
