With all its glitz and glamour, Dubai has found its way into the hearts of celebrities we know and love. It’s not surprising, really. Who wouldn’t want a home in the city that is the epitome of luxury? Let’s take a look at some A-list Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities who own property in Dubai and have a not-so-little slice of Dubai’s real estate market.
The Beckhams
Power couple David and Victoria Beckham own a 7-bedroom villa in Palm Jumeirah purchased at AED 5.9M back in 2008. The following year, the Beckhams purchased another property, this time in one of the most sought-after locations – Burj Khalifa. The couple’s home in the UAE’s iconic skyscraper cost about AED 18M. Two homes in two prime Dubai locations – we wouldn’t expect anything less when we think of celebrity homes in Dubai.
Shahrukh Khan
Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is a name known to Arabs and expats alike. The celebrated actor stars in Dubai’s award-winning #BeMyGuest campaign aimed to promote tourism in the UAE. It is no surprise then that he himself should be one of the most known celebrities to own property in Dubai. King Khan has a beautiful 6-bedroom mansion in Palm Jumeirah and often flies down to Dubai for a getaway with his family.
Giorgio Armani
So it doesn’t exactly fall classify as celebrity homes in Dubai but it’s worth noting that fashion designer par excellence Giorgio Armani owns one of the hottest spots in town. The Italian designer partnered with Emaar Properties in 2004 and launched his own hotel in the heart of Downtown Dubai. Armani Hotel opened its doors in 2010 right after the iconic Burj Khalifa was unveiled to the world.
Shilpa Shetty
Reigning over Bollywood for a good part of the 90s, Shilpa Shetty is no stranger to Dubai. The star received an apartment in Burj Khalifa as an anniversary gift from her husband in 2010. The actress has since sold the flat and purchased a sprawling villa in Palm Jumeirah.
Abhishek & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Bollywood royalty couple from the famous Bachchan family, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, also own a luxury house in Sanctuary Falls Jumeirah Golf Estates. The area has resort-style villas in a quaint community area with tranquil water features. The couple bought the luxury holiday home back in 2013 and often visit to spend time in their home in Dubai.
Lindsay Lohan
Hollywood A-lister Lindsay Lohan owns a piece of The World Islands, located off the coast of Dubai. The Mean Girls star recently revealed plans to design one of the islands in the man-made archipelago. She plans on naming the island after herself, referring to it as ‘Lohan Island’ in a recent talk show appearance.
