COVID-19 protocols

To minimise the spread of coronavirus, the government of UAE decided to reopen schools in August for the academic year 2021 – 2022 with safety guidelines. Similarly, keeping in mind the health and safety of students and staff members, the Ministry of Education has designed strict SOPs for schools to follow while they are open.

  • No student, teacher or staff member will join the school before testing negative for COVID-19. 
  • All students and teachers must get their body temperature checked in the morning before entering the school premises.
  • Classrooms will be set up to accommodate reduced capacity. Student desks will be set at a safe distance (1 meter); classrooms will use physical markings to ensure desks remain in the correct locations.
  • Lockers are permitted as long as physical distance measures are not compromised and in such a way that each locker is designated to a specific student (alternated and not shared). 
  • Certain play sections/areas should be closed (i.e. dress up sections, indoor soft play areas, reading corners with soft furniture). Open spaces should include furniture and equipment that is easy to clean.
  • Students below six years (below Grade 1) are not required to wear masks. 
  •  Students of Grade 1 and above, teachers and school staff members are required to bring a minimum of two (2) masks to school each day.
  • Buses may run at full capacity but with safety measures in place. 
  • Seating arrangements will be clearly marked out in canteen areas; no students will be permitted to sit directly adjacent, or next to one another. A physical distance of 2 meters should be kept in canteen areas.
  • Schools can operate a pre-selected and pre-packed lunch service, with no live cooking taking place at school. 
  • School events, extracurricular activities, after-school clubs and activities are allowed with approved protocols in place.
  • Schools shall resume field trips, holiday camps and sports events according to the approved protocols.
  • Physical education will continue, including access to swimming pools**.**

Kindergarten and Primary School

Middle and Secondary School

As your child is promoted to senior and then secondary senior section, the syllabus introduces teacher-specific subjects and formative and summative assessments strategies. Apart from termly and final examinations, students have to sit for monthly assessments so that teachers can track their progress.

In the senior section, students can opt for either the Commerce or Science stream for their CBSE examinations and select core subjects from the pool that includes English, Arabic, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, Islamic Studies or Moral Studies, Social Studies and a second language (Hindi/Urdu/Malayalam).

Distance Learning at East Point Indian International School

As per the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) instructions, all schools across the UAE will discontinue distance learning from January 2022.

Academic Calendar for East Point Indian International School

East Point Indian International School’s academic calendar runs from April until March. The academic year is split into three terms:

  • The first term starts in the second week of April and ends in the first week of July when students go on a two-month summer break.
  • After the winter break, the second term begins in the last week of August and ends in the second week of December for three weeks of winter vacations.
  • The third term commences in the first week of January and concludes in March. Students then go on a two-week spring holiday.

How to Apply to East Point Indian International School?

East Point Indian International School in Al Hamidiyah welcomes students from all backgrounds to apply for admission confidently. However, as seats are limited, parents are requested to register their children online at their earliest.

Once your child has been registered, please submit the following mandatory documents to the school.

  • Pass certificate/ final result of the last grade level (except for KG and Grade 1 admission)
  • Pass certificate/ final result of the last grade level (except for KG and Grade 1 admission)
  • Transfer documents for students applying for registration during the academic year (Original)
  • The applicant’s Birth Certificate, either in English or Arabic
  • Immunisation certificate of the applicant
  • Valid passport of the applicant
  • Valid residence visa of the applicant
  • Emirates ID of the applicant
  • A copy of parents’ or sponsor’s valid passport with visa
  • Five recent passport-sized photos of the applicant

For students transferring from India:

  • The Transfer Certificate has to be verified by the education office of the Zone/District/Area, from where the TC has been obtained.
  • The seal, signature of the Education Officer is to be attested by the Indian Consulate in Dubai and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sharjah, U.A.E.
  • For students coming from Gulf countries other than the U.A.E. and Oman, the Transfer Certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Education of the country.

After completing the first round of registration, East Point Indian International School of Ajman conducts a performance test or entrance exam. Students who clear the exam successfully are offered admission.

Lunch Options at East Point Indian International School

East Point Indian School has a cafeteria where students can have their meals during break time. The cafeteria takes extra care of hygiene and sanitation while offering nutritious snacks and refreshments.
