Al Salam Community School (ASCS) is part of Al Salam Private School. Al Salam Private School and Nursery started its journey in 1985 and has served Dubai residents for over three decades. During its initial years, the school experimented with different locations to find the perfect spot in the city. After a long journey involving some of the most historic communities of Dubai, Al Salam Private School finally settled for Al Nahda 2.

Lately, the senior management decided to establish a new campus for secondary students. Hence, Al Salam Community School came into existence in 2019. Once the new campus was functional, all middle school and secondary school students in Al Salam Primary School moved to the new branch while the original campus kept serving young learners from Foundation Stage until Year 6.

The school follows the British curriculum. The Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum is followed for Arabic Studies, Islamic Education, Moral Education and Emirati Social Studies. ASCS Dubai offers quality education to children from the Foundation Stage until Key Stage 5.

Al Salam Community School Dubai, at the time of its opening, had 800 students. And soon, there were many new applicants seeking admission in Years 7 to 10. Students enrolled in ASCS belong to various nationalities, but Arab students are in the majority. The school also recruited 47 new teachers to join the existing teaching staff.

Formed in 2006, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) is a regulatory body that inspects private schools in Dubai in partnership with the Dubai School Inspection Bureau (DSIB). It rates all private schools based on the quality of education, teachers, campus facilities and school performance.

Like other British schools in Dubai, the Al Salam Community School calendar is divided into three terms. The academic year runs for ten months.

The official school calendar has dates marked for school events, exams, results and other holidays.

• The first term starts in the last week of August and ends in the second week of December, followed by a three-week winter break.
• The second term starts in the first week of January and ends in the fourth week of March, followed by a two-week spring vacation.
• The third term starts in the second week of April and ends in the first week of July, followed by a two-month summer holiday.

The school remains open from Monday to Friday. Al Salam Community School timings are different for each section and are as follows:

• Foundation Stage: 07:30 am to 01:00 pm (Monday to Thursday)
• Foundation Stage: 07:30 am to 11:30 am (Friday)

Each year, ASCS Al Twar 2 looks forward to welcoming children from diverse backgrounds. To start the Al Salam Community School’s admission process, you must complete the online registration and submit the following documents.

Once the school receives the online admission form and the required documents, the admission team will review the candidate profile. If a student meets the criteria, the school will call them for an assessment.

The assessment is designed to judge the school readiness of the students and select the most appropriate year group. While the student sits for the entrance exam, parents can explore the campus and discuss questions they might have about the school.

Please note that parents are required to pay a non-refundable and non-transferable assessment fee of AED 500 before the assessment takes place.

The result will be announced within three days of the assessment. Students offered a place at Al Salam Al Twar 2 are required to deposit a registration fee within seven days of receiving the offer.

Before enrolment, parents must ensure their child meets the following age placement guidelines.

The Al Salam Community School fee structure falls in the mid-range and is approved by the KHDA. Here’s a breakdown of the annual fee for each year group.

Some additional charges include:

• Application/Assessment fee of AED 525 (non-refundable and non-transferable)
• Registration deposit for new students as well as existing students is AED 1,500. It is non-refundable but adjustable against the first term tuition fees.

Sibling Discount

The school offers a sibling discount for the convenience of parents.

• Second and third child: 5% discount on tuition fees
• Fourth child: 10% discount on tuition fees
• Fifth child onwards: 15% discount on tuition fees

Al Salam Community School offers a catering service to students. The school ensures that students eat healthy, delicious hot meals and snacks. ASCS also encourages children to adopt healthy eating habits and learn table manners.

Parents sending lunch with their children must ensure that the meal provided is healthy and does not contain junk food and fizzy drinks.

 The school offers a complimentary shuttle bus service for parents who have children studying in both Al Salam Private School in Al Nahda 2 and Al Salam Community School in Al Twar 2.

Both campuses make use of the same transport facility. So students enrolled in the Al Twar 2 campus can opt for the Al Nahda 2 campus shuttle services. It is beneficial for siblings studying on different campuses. Please note that the shuttle service is offered free of charge.

As of now, Al Salam School only offers on-site sports camps for children during holidays. It plans to introduce more holiday camps in the future.

Students interested in sports can make the most of an outdoor full-sized football pitch, netball and basketball courts, a 6-lane full-fledged swimming pool and a beginner’s pool.

All students have access to a 1,000 square metres multi-purpose sports hall, outdoor recreational areas and indoor and outdoor play areas. FS and primary students have dedicated play areas.

The decision making at Al Salam Community School revolves around students’ future. The institute acknowledges the role of extracurricular activities in classroom learning; hence, it offers extra and co-curricular activities to students.

At the moment, your child can take part in clubs like karate, ballet, table tennis, chess, drama, music, art, gymnastics and football. However, the school plans to add more exciting and engaging activities in the future.

ASCS School encourages children to participate in one sporting activity and one creative activity each term.

It’s only been a few months since the school has opened, but students visited the Dibba camp for an overnight stay. ASCS will introduce more educational and entertainment field trips soon.

Many extracurricular activities at ASCS happen after school hours. The school has collaborated with an external service provider called Elite to provide football training to students.

Al Salam Community School in Dubai has a medical facility that healthcare professionals head. The clinic is well-equipped to provide first-aid and treat minor injuries.

A nurse looks after the facility and ensures that all medical records are maintained safely. Since the school requests a vaccination report during the admission process, parents must provide an updated medical report, especially if their child has a chronic medical condition.
