PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN RAK
Established in 2008, the RAK Transport Authority (RAKTA) aims to provide an efficient transportation system to residents in line with the best international practices. Advanced and safe transportation options have been introduced in the city and the authority continuously strives to improve its services.
RAKTA regulates all transportation services in the emirate, including buses, mass transit across the city, taxis, rental buses, tourist transport, commercial transport, maritime transport, school transport and other passenger transport services.

TAXIS IN RAK
Taxis in RAK, as stated earlier, are regulated by RAKTA. These RAK Transport Authority taxis are metered, air-conditioned vehicles with easy-to-identify cream-coloured roofs. Over 600 taxis in RAK are operated by well-trained drivers who know the different routes.

BUSES IN RAK
LOCAL RAKTA CITY BUSES
As per the Ras Al Khaimah Vision 2030 and the expansion strategy of RAKTA, an internal bus service was initiated. Residents and visitors can travel comfortably between key locations such as malls, residential areas, the airport and educational institutions.
RAKTA City Buses are air-conditioned, modern and fully integrated with the RAKBus app and Sayr mobility platform, allowing for real-time tracking and route planning. Passengers can also use the E-Saqr card for easy, cashless payments and top-ups at designated stations.
Red Line: Al Nakheel ↔ Al Jazirah Al Hamra
- Timings: Operates daily from 06:00 am to 10:00 pm
- Route Coverage: Connects residential areas, Manar Mall and Al Hamra Mall.
- Fare: AED 8
Blue Line: Al Nakheel ↔ Sha’am Area
- Timings: Runs daily from 06:00 am to 10:00 pm
- Route Coverage: Covers Al Nakheel, Al Rams and northern communities like Sha’am.
