Dubai Municipality is the organisation that is leading the development of this mega project. While commenting on the vision behind Aladdin City, Director-General Hussain Nasser Lootah described it as the “icons of legends of the past with a touch of beauty and tourism, characteristic of the city.”
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Who hasn’t read or seen Aladdin? Now, with this project, we get to experience it as well. The ambitious 4,000-acre themed complex is inspired by Aladdin, Sinbad and other stories from the Arabian Nights. Upon completion, Aladdin City Dubai will feature three high-rise towers reaching heights of 27, 18 and 10 storeys. These will be designed to resemble Aladdin’s famous magic lamp from the popular fable.
Air-conditioned bridges and moving walkways will connect the three towers so residents can easily switch between the skyscrapers!
Moreover, the shape of the bridge that connects the towers will resemble the dragons, snakes and other exotic creatures immortalised by the books. The plans of Dubai Aladdin City circulating online reveal impressive towers with stunning glass exteriors covered in the gold lattice.

The Aladdin City project will also include a 27-storey building for hotels and offices, an 8-storey building that will serve as hotel building entrance, an 18-storey commercial tower connected to a 10-storey high parking building. Since the whole project is constructed at a port, it was essential not to disrupt any activities. Hence, a hotel building entrance/reception along with pedestrian bridges have been built.
The Dubai Municipality had shortlisted Arif & Bintoak Consulting Architects and Engineers, Meinhardt Group and Incorporated Consultants to bring this vision to life. The project was eventually awarded to Meinhardt Group, which came on board as consultants for the project, while Architect International Design Studio (IDS) was inducted to provide architectural support. The proposed cost of the project is $15 billion.
