Al Jaheli (also spelt as Al Jahili) is a community in Al Ain with great historical importance. Home to the popular Al Jahili Fort, this area is now developing into a residential district with a range of apartments and villas on offer. A walk down the tree-lined streets reveals large properties under construction, some shops, restaurants, hotel apartments and a massive park. Located near Al Ain Oasis, Al Jahili stays true to its Emirati vibes.

Al Jaheli Oasis may seem like a deserted island at the first glance. The development of a family park around the fort has made it a popular tourist destination in the UAE. There are some shops and mosques within the community making up for a residential setting. Moreover, construction is in process for some residential properties including villas and apartment buildings. Once those are completed, Al Jaheli will offer valuable investment opportunities. As of now, one can only find a few rental properties in Al Jaheli.

Residential properties in the community include 3-bed and 4-bedroom villas. The covered area for these properties ranges from 2,500 sq. ft. to 7,000 sq. ft. Some villas for rent in Al Jaheli also feature expansive balconies and dedicated parking spaces making them ideal for families and couples alike.

On the other hand, one can find a range of 2-bedroom and 3-bed apartments. These units span from 700 sq. ft. to 1,300 sq. ft. The rental prices would vary depending on the covered areas, unit type and construction date.

If you are interested in renting apartments in Al Jaheli, you can choose from 2-bed and 3-bed units. A 2-bedroom apartment for rent in Al Jaheli costs around AED 30k at the minimum. Similarly, a 3-bed unit ranges from AED 42k to AED 60k. If you rent a 3-bedroom villa, the annual rent would be AED 75k.

There are three restaurants, a bar and a cafe and other amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, sauna room, fitness club, tennis court and WiFi.

If you have private conveyance, you can access Zayed Bin Sultan Street and travel to the neighbouring localities. The residential properties have dedicated parking spaces where residents can park their cars.

Those who prefer public transport can board Bus E201 from Al Ain Central Bus Terminal. The station is a 5-minute drive from Al Jaheli. Other bus stands in the vicinity include Al Salimi Park 1 and 2 and Al Madina Petrol Station 1 and 2.

There are many shops and supermarkets in Al Jaheli. Residents can get their groceries from Megamart, Al Ammal Supermarket, Baqala Al Haj Mohammed Amin, Gulf Co-operative Supermarket or Baqala Noor Al Jahili.

Muslim residents can offer prayers in any of the community mosques that are located at short intervals. Also, one can visit the mosque in Jahili Park.

If you are looking to visit a church, you can find St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the vicinity. Reaching there would take only a few minutes by car.

The community is home to Al Jahly School. Other options in close proximity include Al Nahaniya Model School and Al Ain Primary and Secondary School. Whereas toddlers and younger children can enrol in Al Ain Juniors School. Those wanting to pursue higher education can access The United Arab Emirates University and Al Ain University in Al Jimi. Both these options are a short drive from Al Jaheli.

There are a few clinics and hospitals near Al Jaheli that one can consider in case of medical emergencies. NMC Medical Centre Al Wadi is a 6-minute short drive away while Specialized Medical Care Hospital is within the community on Hessa Bint Mohemmed Street. Those searching for physiotherapists can visit Kanad Hospital in Al Mutawah, which is around 5 to 6 minutes away.

Al Jahili is at the heart of Al Ain near Al Ain Oasis. Al Mutawah is to its South-East and the Industrial Area is a little farther away. If you are coming from Civic Center, it will take around 10 minutes by car (or less, depending on traffic). Al Owainah is also a close neighbour.

While there are no full-fledged shopping malls in the area, one can access Eternity Style Boutik Mall. Located 7 minutes away from Al Jaheli, one can find some basic items, fashion stores and electronics here. Visit Al Ain Mall if you are looking for a complete day out with friends or family. The mall is 10 minutes away from Al Jaheli featuring brand outlets, fun land for kids and a range of restaurants and cafes.

Some local restaurants in Al Jahili include Chicken Hut, Al Yahar Restaurant and Min Zaman. One can also grab a cup of coffee and snacks from the Starbucks outlet within the community. Cafes, food trucks and eateries in Al Jaheli Park include Sadaf Restaurant, Yemen Balqis Restaurant and Karak Dreams Cafeteria.

Al Jaheli is home to historical landmarks. Its biggest attraction is Al Jahili Fort surrounded by a massive courtyard. Many cultural festivals and photography events are held here. Visitors love to know more about the watchtowers and the history of providing defence to residents back in the 18th century.

Al Ain Oasis is another leisure attraction close by. You can visit the eco-centre or take a stroll in the palm-shaded walkways and learn about the historical irrigation system in Al Ain.

Al Jahili Castle Park is the centre of outdoor activities. It is one of the popular parks in Al Ain with playgrounds, sports courts, jogging tracks and a castle at the centre. A food court with street food and juices is also here. Those who want to keep fit can go to the gyms in the locality.

There are no shopping malls in the community but one can easily access Al Ain Mall and Al Jimi Mall in Al Jimi within a few minutes by car.
