COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

SISD has designed Covid-19 protocols to ensure student and staff safety. Some classes are conducting in full capacity while some are not. The official website mentions pick-up and drop-off plans. Parents must drop Early Years students at the lobby; only one adult can accompany them during drop-off. Primary Years parents are not allowed to park their vehicle. They should drop the child at the rear entrance.

Parents dropping secondary class students at the school are not allowed to park their vehicles. They should leave kids at the rear entrance and leave immediately. The cut off time of Primary section students is 08:10 am. For pick up, parents can park their vehicle and wait in the lobby area. Pick up time is sharp 02:30 pm. Only 40 adults are allowed in the lobby at a time.

All school buses will operate at 50% capacity. Those entering the building will have their temperatures checked every morning. Parents are also advised to check students’ temperature before sending them to school. Students with more than 37.5-degree centigrade temperature will be sent back home.

Staff must wear masks after entering school. Those who come in direct contact with students are suggested to use transparent masks or face shields to enable lip reading and facial expression. It is not mandatory for Early Years students to wear a mask. All classrooms in EYFS are partitioned into three spaces. Furniture set up must ensure a physical distance of at least 1.5 metres between kids. At least a 2-metre distance between individuals must be maintained in common areas and corridors.

Students over 6 years old should wear masks at all times inside the school. Students are also required to bring two extra masks with them in a sealed bag or envelope. They are allowed to take their masks off for eating, drinking and exercising.

Lockers are out of use for indefinite periods. Students and teachers should bring their own exclusive stationery items to avoid sharing.

Each grade in the secondary section has been assigned a designated zone in the school building to ensure that groups do not mix. Majority of lessons are conducted in the Homeroom classroom.
