COVID-19 Protocols

The Ministry of Education has collaborated with schools, parents and other stakeholders to come up with a plan to reopen schools in the UAE. To ensure a safe learning environment, schools need to implement the following COVID-19 protocols:

  • Schools must check the temperature of students and staff entering the school’s premises. The PE team at Al Resalah American International School checks the temperature via a contactless digital thermometer.
  • Social distancing to be followed by students and staff throughout the campus. A minimum of 1.5-metre distance is recommended within the classrooms.
  • Schools must sanitise their campuses, including educational resources and frequently contacted surfaces, regularly.
  • Sharing meals is not allowed. The school catering services are operating under specific guidelines by the ministry. Parents are advised to send their kids with a lunchbox and water bottle.
  • Schools must limit activities, such as enrichment programmes, field trips, assemblies, celebrations and sports. Al Resalah American School has reduced its school bus capacity to 30%.
  • A health officer to be stationed at schools. The nursing department at schools can help in reducing the risk of infection.
  • Parents should monitor the health of their children and inform schools if they encounter any COVID-19 positive case. Schools need to arrange provisions for remote learning.

The Ministry of Education has mandated schools to offer distance learning provisions in addition to in-class learning, especially in the first phase of reopening. Distance learning format might differ from school to school and term to term, but students opting for this model will be kept updated on the curriculum followed.

Academic Calendar for Al Resalah American International School Sharjah

The academic year at Al Resalah American International School starts in August and ends in July.

  • The first term starts in the last week of September and ends in the second week of December. Students then go on a three-week winter break that ends in the last week of December.
  • The second term starts in the first week of January and ends in the fourth week of March. This is followed by a two-week spring break that ends in the first week of April.

How to Apply to RAIS Sharjah?

The annual charges are split into three instalments. The deadline for these instalments are:

Lunch Options at Al Resalah American International School

The school has cafeterias where students and staff can purchase hot and cold food items at affordable prices. All the food items are rich in nutrition and prepared in a hygienic environment. The school canteens comply with the health and safety standards issued by the ministry. Food items, such as candies, cakes, crisps, nuts and fizzy drinks, are not available.

Currently, the school has no after-school care programme for its students. Students can only participate in extracurricular activities that are arranged at the campus after regular school hours.
