WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED FOR PET REGISTRATION IN DUBAI?
You’ll need to bring along the following documents when you visit a veterinary clinic for pet registration with Dubai Municipality:
- Emirates ID or passport with valid UAE visa.
- Your pet’s updated vaccination card.
- Information related to your pet, such as age, sex, species, breed, colour and microchip number.
- Information pertaining to microchips such as your phone number, residential address, email address.
PET REGISTRATION PROCESS IN DUBAI
Here are the steps involved in Dubai pet registration:
- Gather your pet’s vaccination card/report and other medical documents.
- Visit any veterinary clinic, hospital or Dubai Municipality’s Veterinary Services to get your pet microchipped (only once).
- Once your pet is successfully microchipped, it’s essential to get yearly vaccinations, including rabies and other vaccines.
- The pet’s information is uploaded to Dubai Municipality’s database and linked to the owner’s Emirates ID and address information.
- You’ll get an ID tag that you can attach to the pet’s collar.
- Make sure that the tag is visible at all times.
- Pet registration has to be updated on an annual basis.

WHAT ARE THE PET REGISTRATION COSTS IN DUBAI?
Dubai Municipality pet registration fee is AED 100 (approx) at a private veterinary clinic. Please note that the charges could be less if the process is undertaken at a Dubai Municipality Veterinary Centre.
WHAT ARE THE PENALTIES AND FINES FOR NOT REGISTERING YOUR PET IN DUBAI?
Pet owners could face fines and have their pets confiscated if it’s not registered with Dubai Municipality. A fine from AED 150 to AED 500 (first offence) is payable for failing to register your pet. It’s also essential to note that microchipped pets without a collar can be confiscated.
