PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN PALM JUMEIRAH
Even though driving remains the most frequently used mode of transportation in Dubai, there are several other ways to get around the city. Over the last two decades, the public transport system in Dubai has improved a great deal.

PALM JUMEIRAH MONORAIL
The Palm Monorail is a straddle-type monorail that was opened on April 30, 2009, in Dubai. The monorail in Palm Jumeirah connects the Atlantis The Palm to the Gateway station at the entrance of The Palm. One of the best ways to travel to the Palm Jumeirah is by taking these driverless trains, which take about 10 minutes to travel from the Atlantis to the Gateway.

An extremely popular choice among tourists, the Palm Monorail Dubai also offers people a unique opportunity to view the man-made island from a distinctive vantage point.
- Timings: The train runs every 15 minutes, starting from 09:00 am to 09:45 pm (from the Palm Gateway Station) and 09:15 am to 10:00 pm (from The Atlantis Station), seven days a week.
- Ticket Prices:
- Single trip: Starting from AED 5 (Al Ittihad Park to Nakheel Mall)
- Round trip: Starting from AED 10 (Al Ittihad Park to Nakheel Mall)
- UAE Resident Pass: AED 135 (valid for one month, 6 round trips)
- Day Pass: Unlimited Rides For AED 35
- Palm Residents & Tenant Monthly Pass: AED 165 (unlimited rides for one month)
- Family Pass: AED 99 (Family of 4 from Palm Gateway Station to Atlantis Aquaventure)
- My Emirates Pass: Travellers flying with Emirates can get discounts using My Emirates Pass, valid from 1st April to 30th September 2025.
- Stations: Currently, four stations serve the Palm Monorail, which include Palm Gateway, Al Ittihad Park, Nakheel Mall and Atlantis Aquaventure Station.
DUBAI TRAM
Launched in November 2014, the light rail or Dubai Tram is part of the public transport in Palm Jumeirah, which connects the neighbourhood to various areas, including Al Sufouh Street, Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence. Although it does not cover the entire island, it is connected to the Palm Monorail and the Dubai Metro.
There’s a footbridge between the Palm Jumeirah Tram Station and the Gateway Station. The Dubai Tram network connects with the Dubai Metro at JLT Tram Station and the Dubai Marina Tram Station. There are 11 stations that the Dubai Tram network currently covers.
- Timings: It runs from 06:30 am to 01:00 am, Saturday to Thursday. On the other hand, its timings are 09:00 am to 01:00 am on Friday. Travellers don’t have to wait long, as the trams arrive every 6 to 8 minutes.
- Price: People can pay for Dubai tram tickets with their Nol cards. For AED 3, you can travel on the Dubai Tram, and AED 4 is the ticket price for Red Nol tickets. The gold class ticket is priced at AED 6.

BUS SERVICE
Nakheel offers complimentary shuttle bus services across the Palm Jumeirah and neighbouring areas, providing quick transportation to Nakheel Mall and Palm West Beach. With multiple daily services from dozens of hotels on Palm Jumeirah, you can rely on a bus for your transportation needs.
- Timings: The service operates three times daily on weekdays and once on weekends at various times, depending on the route.
- Locations: Some of the popular hotels covered by the bus service include Sofitel Dubai, Royal Central Hotel, Anantara The Palm Resort, Waldorf Astoria and Kempinski The Palm.
