Turrfa (also known as Tarfa or Al Tarfa) is a relatively small neighbourhood in Sharjah. Located in Mughaidir Suburb, the community is bound by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) on one side and Al Darari on the other. The residential area has a community park at the centre and basic amenities like shops, mosques, eateries and schools within proximity. If you’re coming from Sharjah Cricket Stadium, it will take around 9 to 10 minutes to reach the neighbourhood by car via University City Road (S120).

Al Tarfa, Sharjah is a quiet residential area. A stroll down the road reveals streets lined with palm trees and large residential properties including villas and townhouses. There are shops and restaurants as well as prayer halls and mosques located at short intervals. Unlike other parts of the emirate, Turfa is not as happening or busy but it is a family-friendly place and gets pretty active after sunset because of the family park in the heart of the community.

Residential properties mostly include expansive villas and townhouses. Villas for sale in Turrfa have prices starting from AED 2.85M. One can find a few 5-bedroom villas spanning across 8,000 sq. ft. The range of duplex units features dedicated parking for up to two vehicles.

Those looking to visit a church will have to pull out a car to reach International Baptist Church. It is around 16 minutes away from Al Tarfa. Another option is St. Luke’s Chapel, also accessible by car in around 10 to 11 minutes.

There are two Islamic education schools in Turrfa. Moreover, Sharjah Ambassador School in Muwaileh is around 8 to 10 minutes away and GEMS Millennium School is also at the same distance. The latter is located on University Road. One can easily access University City if they are looking for some notable options for higher education. At a short drive, there is Westford University, College of Medicine and University of Sharjah.

In case of medical emergencies, one can go to Thumbay Hospital and Day Care. Located on University City Road, Muwaileh, the general hospital is a short drive away from Turrfa. As a part of Mughaidir Suburb, Al Tarfa is an immediate neighbour of Al Rifa, Al Tala and Al Darari. The community is also proximal to the Industrial Area and Muwaileh.

Those looking for options for shopping can access Safari Mall Sharjah. It is located in Muwaileh, around 7 to 8 minutes away from Tarfa. The mall has many retail outlets, dining outlets and fashion stores. Mega Mall Sharjah in Bu Daniq is also at a 10-minute short drive.

One can find many local cafeterias and restaurants in Turrfa. Popular options include Jabal Al Noor Cafeteria and Starbucks. Pizza takeaway outlets are also present within the community. If you are craving Arab cuisine, visit Ahlam Al Madina Restaurant, which is 4 minutes away from Turrfa.

To access Sharjah Beach, you can hire a taxi or prepare for a 13 to 15-minute long drive that’s worth the effort. The beach offers sunset points and relaxing areas for those looking to spend a nice evening with family and friends.

Al Tarfa is close to Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The well-known venue is around 7 to 9 minutes away from the community. During the cricket season, there might be traffic on the roads so one needs to plan the trip accordingly.

Moreover, a little longer drive towards Cultural Square can take you to the museums if you are fond of cultural heritage and historical artefacts. One can access the Sharjah Science Museum within 10 to 12 minutes by car.

There is a community park right in the heart of Al Tarfa. It has jogging trails, playgrounds and shaded walkways as well as benches.

Those looking to keep fit can access a fitness club located  minutes away in Al Darari. Here, one can also find a few spas and beauty salons.

There are no bus stations within Turrfa. But a bunch of these are located well within reach. One can find a bus from many stations located only 5 minutes away from Turrfa. Those who don’t drive can easily hire a taxi.
