Kings’ School Dubai Curriculum

The syllabus is designed according to the National Curriculum of England and the Early Years Foundation Stage. The curriculum is contextualised to meet all the specific requirements and interests of the international community in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

FOUNDATION STAGE (AGE 3-5)

Following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, an extensive syllabus has been developed for children ages 3 to 5. Seven stages of education are offered that focus on the following:

How to Apply to Kings’ School Dubai?

Kings' School Dubai is a well-known educational institute. Therefore, it has a waiting list for Years 1 to 4. Being one of the best schools in Dubai, Kings' School in Umm Suqeim receives applications throughout the year. When applying to Kings' school, parents should remember the following instructions:

Online application

  • The first step for admission to the school involves filling out the online registration form. Before doing so, parents should familiarise themselves with the age cut-off for each academic year. This information is available on the admissions page. A short enquiry form is also available on the admissions page, which needs to be filled by parents.
  • Upon completing the form, parents receive an automated response confirming the receipt of the inquiry. An enrollment specialist will then contact the parent in two working days.

Finalising the application

Login details for their parent registration portal will be sent to applicants who have completed the first stage. All the relevant documents should be uploaded online via the parent portal.

The documents required for admission to Kings' School include:

  • Copy of the child's passport
  • Copy of the child's residence visa – when available
  • Copy of the child's birth certificate
  • Copy of the child's Emirates ID card (front and back) – when available
  • Copies of both parents' passports in colour
  • Copies of both parents' visas – when available

  • Four recent passport-size photographs of your child
  • Copy of child's latest school/nursery report; previous two years or three years reports if applying for secondary school.

  • A non-refundable admission fee of AED 500 plus VAT has to be paid online.
  • Leaving Letter/Certificate from current school if coming from outside of Dubai

Securing a Place

  • Parents can book an assessment with the school after all the required documents have been uploaded and approved.
  • Parents will be sent the results of this assessment. Successful applicants receive an offer letter valid for ten days from the day the school sent the offer. If no places are available at the time of application, the student is placed on a waiting list and notified when a place is open.
  • Successful applicants are asked to pay a deposit fee of 25% of annual school fees, which will be deducted from the fees for the first term. Payments must be made directly through the online registration portal.

Assessment

The assessments for admission to Kings' School vary depending on the child's age. A call would notify students who are successful that placement is offered. This is then followed up through an offer letter. Here are some of the usual assessments conducted for admission to Kings' School Umm Suqeim Dubai:

  • Play-based observational assessments for FS1 and FS2
  • Teacher-led assessments for Year 1 to Year 3.
  • For applicants in Years 3-6, there is a computer-based Cognitive Ability Test (CAT). Each online test is relevant for the child's age and takes almost two hours.

The after-school extra-curricular activities are offered internally by Kings' staff and externally by reputed organisations. The extra-curricular activities by external providers are charged per activity, and students can enrol in any external clubs.

The internal extra-curricular activities change from time to time. The most common actions include chess, origami or Zumba, cooking sessions and photography. Externally sourced activities include karate, yoga, ballet, and the LEGO club.
