Emirates National Schools Al Nahyan is one of the five branches in the UAE operated by ENS group. Three ENS schools are currently operating in Abu Dhabi, there’s one branch in Sharjah and one in Ras Al Khaimah.

Emirates National Schools Al Nahyan campus has separate sections for boys and girls and focuses on Ministry of Education program for Arabic, Islamic and UAE Social Studies along with the American Common Core Standards for other subjects. ENS Al Nahyan follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) until Grade 5. ADEK inspected Emirates National School Al Nahyan from 13th to 16th June 2022 and rated it “Acceptable.”

According to the preliminary report, students’ attainment in Islamic Education, Arabic, Mathematics and Science is acceptable. Their attainment and progress in English were found to be good. Students show acceptable progress in subjects including Mathematics and Science. Their learning skills are acceptable.

Teaching and assessment at the school are acceptable in all phases. The health and safety measures at Emirates National School Al Nahyan are good whereas, the care and support towards students are acceptable. As per the ADEK report, the governance of the school is good while its self-evaluation, partnership with parents, management, and effectiveness of leadership are acceptable.

The first day of school is the 29th of August. Term 1 ends on 28th October. Term 2 starts from October 31st. Winter break lasts from 12th to 30th December. The term ends on 20th January.

Term 3 starts from 23rd January and ends on 24th March. Spring holidays last for about two weeks – from 27th March to 7th April.

Term 4 begins on 10th April and 30th June is the last day of the academic year.

Parents interested in Emirates National Schools admissions can fill out the registration form on the official website. However, they must remember that successful entry depends on the availability of seats and the entrance test result.

The campus director or designee will interview the student. Plus, applicants must clear a formal written assessment in Mathematics, English and Arabic. Students might not need to fully prepare for this entrance test as the evaluation is based on previous knowledge only.

ENS Al Nahyan Abu Dhabi supports students in developing life skills outside the classroom through educational field trips. This helps build a positive learning attitude and social skills in students.

The school offers a range of after-school activities. Most tasks are arranged during the non-instructional time including morning breaks, after-school hours and the lunch break. Some activities are also scheduled on Saturdays. The after-school activities program supports students in exploring areas of interest outside the academic program. All activities are designed for eight weeks.

Emirates National Schools Abu Dhabi City campus has a basic clinic managed by a physician and a registered nurse. The clinic operates according to the Health and Safety Policy of the school. The medical clinic staff provides diagnostic and first aid care when needed.

If students fall sick or get injured during school hours, parents are notified immediately. If hospitalisation is needed, parents are suggested to pick up their child from the school. Basic medications are administered to students following the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and the Health Authority.

Students who need medication during school hours must have their medication registered at the school clinic. The medicine should have clear instructions from the physician and should be packed in the original retailed container. All medicines can only be administered by the nurse.

Parents can contact the Parent Communications Office at the school should they have any queries. Announcements related to special events, field trips, parent-teacher conferences and other school-related activities are made through official letters, SMS messages, official social media and communication books.
