Brilliant International Private School follows the British curriculum. The academic programme is broad-based, balanced and educationally relevant and emphasises curriculum planning to ensure progression, challenge and pace.

The BIPS curriculum has four stages leading seamlessly from Early Years to secondary years. Each stage – EYFS, Cambridge curriculum for Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary and Cambridge Upper Secondary, is regularly adapted to meet students’ specific needs.

Foundation Stage children study the Early Years Curriculum. This stage covers Foundation/Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Foundation stage students start learning at the age of 3. EYFS curriculum at BIPS includes six key areas of learning:

Parents interested in Brilliant International Private School admissions are requested to visit the school first before putting in their application. The admissions process begins in January for the next academic year that starts in September.

All candidates must sit for an interview and appear for an entrance exam. After clearing the assessment, parents are asked to fill the application form available on the school’s website. After filling the application form, parents should submit the required documents.

If admission is granted, parents will receive a written confirmation from the school. When the confirmation letter is received, parents are requested to pay the first instalment of the fee, and the student will be then enrolled at the school.

• Registration fee of AED 500 + 3 Post-dated cheques
• Post-dated Cheque 1: on 5th of August

Parents should remember that:

• The fee for books and uniforms is not refundable.

BIPS has a refund policy for tuition and transport fee:

• If a student attends the school for two weeks or less: One-month fee will be charged
• If a student attends the school for two weeks to one month: Two months fee will be charged
• If a student attends the school for more than one month: Three months fee will be charged

• Sibling discount: 5% of the annual tuition fee
• Single payment discount (tuition fee): 5% of the total amount

The school believes in the “healthy food healthy body” phenomenon. So, it does not allow selling junk food and fizzy drinks. Parents are encouraged to pack healthy lunches for children that may include salads or fibre rich foods.

The school cafeteria meets high standards of hygiene, and only trained personnel are allowed to serve food.

The school has outsourced transportation services for different locations of Sharjah, Ajman and Dubai. Here’s an overview of the charges:

Students must follow the instructions of the bus driver and attendant at all times. During the bus ride, students must:

• Follow the direction when asked
• Remain seated throughout the journey
• Keep their head and hands inside
• Talk softly
• Refrain from eating or drinking; only water is allowed
• Keep the aisle clear at all times
• Only throw trash in the bus bin
• Avoid damaging/destroying anything on the bus

Students benefit from excellent sports facilities at BIPS Sharjah. Students can play various outdoor sports in the green outdoor play area.

The school’s swimming pool has different depth levels for different age groups. Students can use the facility under the surveillance of trained coaches and lifeguards. The indoor multipurpose hall is used for playing tennis, basketball, badminton, snooker and foosball.

Art and craft are an important part of extracurricular activities. Students from a young age get access to the school’s art and craft studio to polish their creativity. They can also spend scheduled time in the swimming pool, participate in events, or read in the library.

Classroom learning is enhanced through field trips as students get first-hand experience and exposure to the practical world.

Parents are notified about upcoming field trips. They are also informed about the student’s safe arrival at the venue and his/her safe return to the school.

Students are only taken on ministry-approved trips planned using the BIPS Trip Form. These forms are submitted one month before the trip.

The Health and safety of students are of great importance at BIPS. The school clinic has a part-time doctor and two full-time nurses registered and licensed by the Ministry of Health.

If any student feels unwell during school hours, he/she will be kept in the clinic until parents or guardians pick them up. The school clinic provides first-aid to sick and injured students. They can also refer students to a bigger medical facility if need be.

The clinic is well-equipped and has nebulisers and oxygen apparatus. This clinic also provides basic first-aid training to the staff.

If any student has to take medication during school hours, he/she should bring the doctor’s prescription. Medicine in the original container has to bear the child’s name, class, dosage and the time of the last dose. Parents should hand over all prescription medication to the school clinic staff. They can also send a handwritten note in the school diary and hand over the medicine to the bus nanny.

Students who are prescribed antibiotics are not allowed to attend school for 24 hours after taking the first dose. This is to ensure that the antibiotic has no adverse effect.

Under the Ministry of Health and Regulations guidelines, the school doctor conducts non-invasive medical examinations such as vision, hearing, and head to foot examination. All results are kept updated in the school health record.

If any child needs emergency treatment, the school makes all efforts to contact parents. If they are out of reach, the school doctor provides emergency treatment.
