Muna British Academy, previously known as Al Muna Academy, is a private co-educational school in Abu Dhabi. The campus is planned to ensure provision of quality education. A security team is deployed at the main gate of the campus. Moreover, CCTV cameras are available throughout the school. The classrooms at Muna British Academy are bright and spacious. They are technology-enabled and have interactive whiteboards and mobile technology.

PRIMARY STAGE CURRICULUM

In the primary stage, Muna British Academy follows the formal learning practices of the British National curriculum. The UK curriculum for the primary stage is divided into two key stages: Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2). Besides formal learning, the school also focuses on developing personal, emotional, social, health and moral skills.

The National Curriculum of the UK is adapted to meet the local values and traditions. Therefore, it adopts the core values of the MOE curriculum for Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies. The core subjects taught in the primary stage are English, science and mathematics. In addition, the school teaches the following foundational subjects:

Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) is a government entity that regulates the education sector in the capital. His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan established it in 2005. It aims to develop the education sector and improve the quality of education in Abu Dhabi. For this purpose, it inspects the performance of schools and rates it based on a six-point scale. The scale varies from outstanding to very weak.

ADEK last inspected the school for the academic year 2017-2018. In this inspection report, the performance of Muna British Academy was rated outstanding.

The Academic year at Muna British Academy starts in late August and ends in early July. The academic activities are split into three terms. The important dates of these events are:

• The first term starts in the last week of August and ends in the second week of December. Students go on a midterm break in October.
• After a three-week winter holiday, the second term starts in the first week of January. The term ends in the fourth week of March. The midterm break is expected in February.
• The third term starts after a two-week spring holiday in the second week of April and ends in the first week of July.

Parents can start the admission process by filling out an enquiry form. The school’s team will contact them with details and help throughout the admission process. After that, parents can book a school tour to check out the facilities and meet the admission team. Once satisfied, they can proceed forward by filling out the admission form with the relevant documents to register their child.
