What is Boomah Owl Cafe in Abu Dhabi?
Opened in 2020, Boomah is an owl cafe in Al Seef Village Mall, Abu Dhabi. The cafe has two entrances with two air-conditioned rooms, separated by a glass barrier. They have warm hues of brown, ambient lighting and beautiful decor that mimics a forest.
Established by Emirati entrepreneurs Mohamed Al Shehhi, Abdulla Al Hammadi and Ahmed Al Mansoori, the café was built around a meaningful purpose. It serves as a safe haven for both rescued and human-bred owls while giving visitors the opportunity to unwind and learn more about these fascinating birds in a welcoming environment.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT BOOMAH CAFE?
OWLS, OF COURSE!
Boomah Cafe is home to ten species of owls, each with a distinct name and feature. You can find Saif (great horned owl), Venus (tawny owl), Tuffaha (barn owl), Saturn (rock eagle owl), Neptune (snowy owl), Mars (Asian wood owl), Shaikha (spectacled owl), Ghost (greyish eagle owl), Sun (Eurasian eagle owl) and Ousha (pharaoh eagle owl) at the cafe.
Each of these owls lives under the supervision of trainers who ensure they are well-fed and well-rested (they sleep 12 – 16 hours per day!).
You can pet the owls, hold them and learn more about them and their personalities under the supervision of the trainers. Now that’s the very definition of quality time if you ask us!
FOOD AND DRINKS
The owls may be the stars of the show, but the food comes a close second! The Boomah the owl cafe menu is packed with tempting treats, including Japanese cheesecakes, sweet kunafa and colourful Açai Owl Bowls loaded with banana, raspberry, chia seeds and coconut flakes.
As a favourite bird-themed cafe in Abu Dhabi, Boomah also keeps visitors refreshed with milkshakes, coffees, Matcha lattes, teas and fruity mocktails.
