Al Raqaib is a relatively new residential area in Ajman near Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Road. It is divided into two sub-districts: Al Raqaib 1 and Al Raqaib 2. Al Raqaib is tucked away from the centre of Ajman city, but it is a self-sufficient residential community with all basic amenities within easy reach. One can find many reputed schools in Al Raqaib. Younger ones can go to Kids Town Nursery. Older children can enrol in Ibn Taymiyah School, Applied Technology High School and Secondary Technical School. A short drive away from the neighbourhood, one can find schools that follow the American Curriculum such as The First Academy.

The community is also in proximity to a few notable hospitals in Ajman such as Saudi German Hospital and Ajman Specialty Hospital. Also, there are many speciality clinics near Al Raqaib mainly in the neighbouring district, Al Jurf.

Al Raqaib is away from the rush of the main city yet is in proximity to key areas. It is located near the Al Hamidiya Police Station with its immediate neighbour being the community of Al Hamidiya.

Other communities surrounding Al Raqaib are Al Alia, Al Muntazi, Al Bahia and Emirates City.

While there are no malls in Al Raqaib, residents can head to My Mall Ajman and Ajman China Mall located approximately 10 minutes away from the community. Driving towards the more popular Ajman City Centre might take around 15 to 16 minutes by car. The mall offers many branded outlets, dining options and fun activities.

Foodies can find a few restaurants in Al Raqaib. Those craving for shawarma and juice can head straight to Arabian Grill and Juice Restaurant, Top Burger Cafeteria is a fast food joint and Lymon Restaurant serves pizza and salads. For more fulfilling treats, there is 71oz Steakhouse.

Hitting a beach near Al Raqaib would take a 20 to 25-minute long drive. So, it is recommended to keep food and water with you. Once you reach Ajman Public Beach, the ride will be worth it. There are shaded areas and playgrounds for kids as well. While those hoping for a relaxing jog by the shore can go to Al Hamriyah Public Beach.

Al Raqaib is tucked away from the mainland; one can spot it near Al Hamidiya Police Station. It is around 13 minutes away from the monumental Sheikh Zayed Mosque and 16 minutes from City Centre Ajman. Around 17 to 21 minutes away, there is Al Tallah Camel Racecourse.

There are many community parks in the area where residents can jog and spend time with kids. A sports park in Al Hamidiya is 9 minutes away from Al Raqaib. Besides Eden Gardens and Ajman Cricket Club, one can find a few fitness facilities and gyms in Al Raqaib 1 and 2.

Plans are underway to develop Al Raqaib Green Park that will feature 5,000 plant species. Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the chairman of the Sharjah Municipality and Planning Department claims that the park will reflect Ajman’s original heritage. It will serve as an entertainment centre with fun activities for children and adults alike.

There are limited options for investment in Al Raqaib Ajman. But those looking to get a large private villa for rent can choose from 3-bed to 7-bed houses.
