Alanka Fort is a notable historical landmark located adjacent to Al Rawdah Road. The fort served as the house of the ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1845 to 1855 and was restored in the 1980s. The walls of the two-storey tower are built with mud bricks, cob, palm trunks and gypsum for details. Residents can visit the fort in a 20-minute drive.
