Choueifat International School UAQ operated by SABIS Education offers classes from KG1 to Grade 9 in a co-educational setup.

ISC-UAQ claims to be a multinational and non-selective English medium school for local and international students. It implements the SABIS Educational System as the school curriculum.

The International School of Choueifat UAQ has state-of-the-art campus to ensure students get opportunities to discover their interests and hobbies.

Premium campus facilities include a theatre, a cafeteria, a library and a comfortable space for learning. Students also enjoy different sports facilities such as a semi-Olympic swimming pool, an indoor basketball court, a tennis court and an Olympic soccer field.

Kindergarten section is designed keeping the needs of children aged 3 to 5 years in mind. KG section has a separate swimming pool in addition to a multipurpose indoor court, play areas and a car track.

The International School of Choueifat UAQ is located in Khalifa City on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Road. The school campus is located between Al Shuwaib – Umm Al Quwain and Sheikh Muhammed Bin Zayed Road (E-311) making it easily reachable from other parts of the city.

International School of Choueifat UAQ is an independent school that follows the SABIS Education System, a tried and tested approach developed and tested for almost 130 years. The school prepares students for college life and develop their interest and learning skills accordingly.

ISC UAQ offers classes from KG to Grade 9.

ISC – UAQ implements SABIS Education System curriculum. It prepares students for a wide range of external examinations including US Advanced Placement Exams, TOEFL, SAT, IGCSE and AS/A Level Exams. The school also works to prepare the student for a high school diploma.

Ensuring the delicate balance between academic and life skills development, the SABIS® Educational System transforms students into well-rounded individuals with strong leadership potential. Young learners are well-aware of their traditional values and the modern challenges of the 21st century.

From Grade 1 onwards, courses taught at ISC – UAQ have a specified number of “units of information” that students must learn. This number includes concepts tested by the AMS, Basic Questions and extended material for more able students.

Regular assessment and accountability is a key feature of the school. Teachers ensure that kids learn in class and have enough time to relax after school timings. The computerised academic tracking system – SABIS® AMS is used to identify gaps in knowledge and follow each student’s progress.

Term 1 at the Choueifat UAQ begins on 2nd September. Final exams are scheduled from 20th to 28th November. Term 2 starts from 14th December, and then students go on winter holidays from 15th December to 2nd January. The final examinations for Term 2 are conducted from 4th March to 12th March. Term 3 starts from 26th March while students go on spring holidays from 29th March to 9th April. The final examination lasts from 17th June to 25th June. 25th June is also the last day of the academic year.

Interested applicants can send a request to the school for admission. The school emphasis on academic attainment for admission rather than age. Hence, any student who is keen to learn is welcome in the school. As directed by UAE authorities, parents cannot visit the school as a precaution against the pandemic. Therefore, the school has made the admission process and payment procedure online for parents’ convenience.

There is no deadline for admission process but parents are suggested to submit the application form early. The application is accepted as soon as the seat becomes available. Parents have to pay a joining fee and administrative cost to initiate the admission process.

• Kindergarten applicants have to appear for an interview. They must be toilet trained and must be able to understand simple instructions.
• Applicants for other grades are required to take a diagnostic test in core subjects. The test defines if the student can match the minimum standard of each subject.
• Students applying for KG-1 to Grade 2 must sit for an online interview through video conference.
• Students applying for Grade 3 and above are asked to sit for an online diagnostic test.
• The school makes the final decision regarding different approaches for bringing the student to the required level. For instance, there is an option of summer school or extra classes. Academic support is taken very seriously at the school.

Parent are requested to submit a few mandatory documents along with online application form:

• Passports copies of student and parents
• Valid residency copies of student and parents
• Passport size photographs of the student on white background
• Copy of valid UAE ID cards of parents and student
• Copy of birth certificate
• Copy of immunisation record
• Recent school report from the previous school

Before starting the admission process, parents must ensure that their child meets the following age-placement criteria.

This is based on the age of the students on 31st July (for schools beginning in April) and 31st December (for schools beginning in September).

The mentioned fee is quoted in an annual figure and can be paid in three instalments. It does not include the cost of:

There is a school cafeteria where students can have lunch.

The school offers transportation services to different areas in the city and Ajman.

Premium sports facilities in ISC-Umm Al Quwain for students include an indoor basketball court, a tennis court, an Olympic soccer field and a semi-Olympic swimming pool. There is a running track that surrounds the soccer field.

The school encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities as part of the non-academic goals of all the SABIS schools.

ISC-Umm Al Quwain students are taken on age-appropriate field trips. Senior students were taken to Motiongate Dubai while junior students enjoyed their journey to the amusement park.

Nurses at ISC-Umm Al Quwain take care of students’ medical needs during school hours. If a student needs any medicine, it should be handed over to the school nurse in the morning with a parents’ letter stating the student’s name, class, time and the required dose.

The school send three academic reports to parents each year. Parents can also book an appointment to meet the Academic Quality Controllers at any time and request a copy of their child’s progress report.

SABIS® Digital Platform is a password-protected website that allows parents to keep track of their children’s progress. The platform provides access to children’s academic performance, attendance, disciplinary issues, the latest school news, events and calendars.
