The 10-acre campus has 110 classrooms with audio-visual facilities and internet. COVID-19 Protocols

The Government of Dubai has developed protocols for schools to follow until the pandemic is over. This is an accumulative effort and approach to keep everyone safe and healthy, including students, teachers, parents, and relevant third parties.

The KHDA has uploaded FAQs for schools on the official website for your convenience. Here’s an overview of the preventive SOPs in place.

  • Sterilising the school building, classrooms, laboratories and other facilities regularly, according to the recommendations of the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management.
  • Assessing the temperature of everyone who enters the school building daily.
  • Maintaining physical distance guidelines as recommended by the relevant health authorities and reducing the headcount capacity in classrooms.
  • From this academic year, 1-metre distancing is recommended. Schools must take appropriate precautions to ensure that students and teachers stay physically distanced where possible.
  • Buses may run at full capacity provided they comply with health and safety protocols.
  • Schools shall reinstate Physical Education, swimming lessons and sports activities. Changing rooms and sports areas will be sanitised after each group of students
  • The canteen shall reopen and resume live cooking
  • School trips, excursions and holiday camps shall be resumed. 
  • After-hours care, extra-curricular activities, performances, assemblies and other events at school or external venues are allowed.
  • Students older than six years, staff and visitors to schools must continue to wear face masks.
  • Vaccination is not compulsory. Unvaccinated school staff must submit a negative PCR test each week. Students are not obliged to submit negative PCR tests.
  • From October 3rd 2021, all teaching and learning at Dubai private schools will only be face-to-face. Students who wish to continue with distance learning after the stated date must provide a medical certificate issued by Dubai Health Authority

Springdales School Dubai Curriculum

Springdales School Dubai follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) governed Indian Curriculum. However, the Kindergarten school follows a modified Early Years Foundation (EYFS) curriculum with Indian and UAE culture.

The school offers the British Curriculum at the primary level and prepares students for the CBSE examination at the secondary level. Secondary level students must choose their subjects for the CBSE examination in Grade 11 before entering Grade 9. The school also seeks KHDA approval to provide Cambridge (CIAE) IGCSE, AS/A2 and vocational pathways.

Kindergarten School

Kindergarten school adopts the learning-through-play model to nurture learning in children. The model is also helpful for cognitive and motor skills development in children through kinaesthetic, problem-solving and creative activities.

The key area of focus and development for young students are numeracy, literacy, language, discovering and understanding the world, physical development, creativity and performance, social skills and customs of different countries.

The curriculum offered at this stage is further facilitated through toys, audio-visual tools and the internet in the classrooms.

At Springdales, specialist staff facilitates and supports students in Arabic, Arts, Music, Dance and Swimming. The school provides ample opportunities for students to display their learning through story-time, field trips, themed Assemblies and Open House events.

Primary School

The curriculum taught at primary school seeks to inculcate confidence in children and polish their skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, problem-solving, observation and measurement.

Subjects offered at the primary level include English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, a second language, Physical Education, Computer Science, Computer Studies, Art and Craft and Music. Only Muslim students study Islamic Studies while others study Value Education.

Middle School

The curriculum followed in middle school allows students to create links between the different subjects and create an understanding of the world and their classroom teachings. The courses enable children to question, evaluate, and think critically, which leads to building intercultural awareness and communication skills.

Subjects offered at this level include English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, 2nd Language (Hindi/French), Arabic, UAE Social Studies, Computer Studies, Robotics with Art, Music, Dance, Physical Education and Life Skills.

As per the CBSE examination assessment criteria, the secondary school focuses on 80% summative and 20% formative assessment of the student. Also, students can take part in the Model United Nations (MUN) and Pupil Enrichment Program (PEP).

Secondary School

The secondary school includes Grades 9 to 12. The curriculum design at this stage prepares students for the CBSE examination. Group discussions, field trips, presentations, and community services are a big part of the secondary school curriculum. Additionally, students can participate in the Model United Nations (MUN) and Pupil Enrichment Program (PEP).

As per the assessment criteria of the CBSE examination, the secondary school focuses on 80% summative and 20% formative assessment of the student.

The core subjects offered in Grade 10 include English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, Hindi/French language, Physical Education, Computer Studies and Arabic. Islamic Studies is compulsory for Muslim students.

Students in Grade 11 can choose from a pool of subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Psychology, Hindustani Vocal Music and Physical Education.

The curriculum offered at Springdales includes a unique work education programme. In this program, subjects such as Robotics, MATLAB, Python and Tally are offered. Secondary level students also receive career counselling.

Distance Learning at Springdales School

As per the new COVID-19 protocols issued by KHDA, schools are discontinuing the distance learning programme from October 3, 2021. Those wishing to continue their education via distance learning have to show a relevant health certificate issued by Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Schools may revert back to distance learning if COVID-19 cases are detected in a class or a group in a class.

KHDA Rating

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) helps private schools in Dubai achieve outstanding growth and deliver quality education. The authority regulates and evaluates all private schools based on several parameters, including curriculum, facilities, extra-curricular activities, leadership and more. The rating ranges from ‘Outstanding’ to ‘Very Weak.’

Admission and Fees

How to Apply to Springdales School Dubai?

The application process at Springdales School starts with online registration. Once the online form is submitted, parents will receive an email at the provided address only if a place is available. If there is a seat available, the email will contain a schedule for the assessment, including the day and date.

Please note that assessment determines whether the student can handle the curriculum and the grade suited to their current learning level. Assessments are done for the following year groups:

  • Students from KG2 to Grade 2 will be assessed on their understanding of literacy, language and numeracy.
  • Students from Grade 3 and onwards will be tested on grade-appropriate English and Mathematics.

The school charges a non-refundable registration fee of AED 550, which must be paid before the assessment.

Parents and guardians are requested to provide these mandatory documents at the time of registration.

  • Two copies of the student’s passport with a valid residence visa
  • Two copies of parents’ passport with a valid residence visa
  • One copy of the Emirates ID card of the student
  • One copy of the Emirates ID card of the parents, guardians or sponsor(s)
  • Four passport size photographs of the students
  • One copy of the Birth Certificate(for KG 1, KG 2 & Grade 1 Students)
  • Copy of mark sheet of the final/ latest examination passed in current Grade/ previous school
  • Original attested Transfer/ School Leaving Certificate of the last school attended (to be submitted after the confirmation of admission.)
  • Students from Grade 2 onwards need to provide an original Transfer Certificate of the last school attended. The Ministry of Education must attest this certificate if the student is coming from any emirate other than Dubai. Attestation from the Ministry of Education is mandatory if the student is coming from Oman.
  • For students from India, the Transfer Certificate must be stamped by the Education Officer of the Zone/ District/ Area from where the Transfer Certificate was obtained. The certificate will also have to be attested by the Indian Consulate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dubai.

Refund Policy

In case parents want to withdraw their child from Springdales School, they need to inform the administration at least 7 days before the withdrawal so that the school can carry out the exit formalities and arrange for a refund, if applicable.

The admission withdrawal rules are:
  • A one-month fee is charged if a student has attended school for less than 2 weeks.
  • A two-month fee is charged if the student has attended school for more than 2 weeks but less than 1 month.
  • If the student has attended school for more than a month, the school will charge the entire term’s fee.

Please note that refunds are made only via cheques.

Re-registration/ Existing Student Policy

The school will charge 10% of the tuition fee as the registration fee to ensure that the students take the offered place for the next academic year. This re-registration fee is non-refundable.
