Presently, Next Generation is seeking full accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and membership of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Next Generation School Dubai has carefully threaded Islamic study and the Arabic language with the core American curriculum. The school allows students to fully understand their cultural identity and Islamic culture. Backed by qualified teaching staff and excellent campus facilities, NGS Dubai has successfully garnered interest from hundreds of families.

The school aims to inspire students to discover the world beyond the classrooms. As a model education facility, it does its best to help students use different learning tools. The inspiring economic engagement programme supports each child. Those studying at NGS can apply for advertised roles within the class and school. Once they take up the position, they earn a monthly salary in NGS currency. This school currency can be donated to a good cause or kids can save it for later use.

Next Generation School also supports students with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). It identifies the special needs of children and commits to leaving no child behind when it comes to academic progress.

All in all, Next Generation School Al Barsha is an excellent choice for parents seeking faith-based but modern education for their children. The school is one of the best Islamic schools in Dubai.

NEXT GENERATION SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Next Generation School curriculum
Islamic Studies and Arabic education are important subjects of Next Generation School curriculum (Image Credit: Next Generation School)

In line with its mission statement, Next Generation Dubai offers a rich American curriculum based on Common Core State Standard (CCSS) for literacy and Mathematics and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science. New York State Standard is followed for Drama, Arts, Physical Education, ICT and other electives.

The curriculum outlines the syllabus of each Grade level.

Arabic education and Islamic Studies are the two most important subjects. As per the Ministry of Education requirements, the Arabic curriculum focuses on developing key areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The Islamic studies curriculum especially benefits Muslim students as it involves teaching the Holy Quran along with a strong emphasis on proper recitation and understanding of tajweed, the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and other principles of the Islamic faith.
Project-Based Learning (PBL) is an important part of the curriculum, which is implemented with a student-centred practice and involves a dynamic classroom approach.

DISTANCE LEARNING AT NEXT GENERATION SCHOOL

As per the instructions of The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), all schools across the UAE will discontinue distance learning from January 2022.

KHDA Rating

KHDA inspected the school from 25th to 28th March 2019 for the first time and rated it as “Acceptable.”

According to Next Generation KHDA rating and reports, students’ attainment in all key subjects is either acceptable or below expectations. But when given opportunities, students were found keen and eager to take on responsibilities.

Most lessons are teacher-led. Students show creativity and act as independent learners. The curriculum is recently modified according to modern standards but lacks consistency.
