In line with its mission, Next Generation School Dubai delivers a comprehensive American curriculum that reflects both academic excellence and Islamic values. The curriculum is grounded in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts and Mathematics, and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for Science. For subjects such as Drama, Art, Physical Education, ICT, and other electives, the school follows the New York State Standards.
The curriculum is carefully structured to outline the learning outcomes for each grade level, ensuring progression and continuity across all stages of education.
Arabic and Islamic Studies form an integral part of the programme. In accordance with the UAE Ministry of Education guidelines, the Arabic curriculum emphasises the development of core language skills — listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The Islamic Studies curriculum provides Muslim students with a deep understanding of their faith, focusing on the Holy Qur’an, tajweed (proper pronunciation and recitation), the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and key Islamic principles and values.
A distinctive feature of the school’s approach is Project-Based Learning (PBL), which encourages a student-centred and inquiry-driven environment. Through hands-on projects, learners apply their knowledge to real-world situations, promoting creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking across subjects.
