Mode of Communication between Teachers and Parents

GEMS Parents Portal

One of the primary sources of communication at JC is the GEMS Parent Portal. It informs parents about important information such as attendance record, teachers’ feedback, examination schedule, notifications for upcoming events and student’s performance.

GEMS Parental Engagement Programme

Jumeirah College focuses on helping all of its students reach their maximum potential. This is the main reason why the GEMS schools have introduced the GEMS Parental Engagement Programme into all of its schools. This provides parents with the opportunity to engage with the learning and development of their child. Moreover, it also helps them to develop an improved understanding of strategies for interaction and engagement, fulfilling the learning needs of their child.

Almost every GEMS school has been able to develop its engagement programme to fulfil the specific requirements of their community. However, there are basic requirements that are expected from every GEMS school. This includes:

  • Recognition of the important role played by parents within the process of learning and teaching;
  • Informing parents about the student-based study programmes in advance
  • Providing the necessary resources, tools, and guidance required by parents to support the learning and development of the child.

Three-a-day parental engagement approach

JC’s 3-a-day mobile application is one of the most essential ways through which the college has been helping parents to provide inspiration and encouragement to children. The application has been developed based on simple and pragmatic advice from counsellors and teachers. It includes three important sections:

  • Activities to share
  • Something to talk about
  • Guidance for encouraging children
