The educational stages at JBS are:
Stage | Grade |

Kindergarten | Pre-KG to KG2 |
Primary Years Programme (PYP) | Grade 1 to Grade 5 |
Middle Year Programme | Grade 6 to Grade 10 |
IB Diploma Programme (DP) | Grade 11 and Grade 12 |
The school also offers Career-related Programme (IBCP) and BTEC National Diploma after the IB Diploma Programme
Jumeira Baccalaureate School, Dubai, teaches the International Baccalaureate Curriculum starting from Foundation Stage 1 all through to Grade 12.
The Primary Years Program (PYP) is carefully devised to cater to children aged 3 to 12 years old. It encourages them to learn and discover by inspiring their curiosity. Annually, students participate in nearly four to six inquiry units. PYP is the first of four programs in the IB curriculum.
The school focuses on the following six major areas in PYP:
Personal, Physical and Social Education | Arts |
Language | Mathematics |
Social Studies | Science and Technology |
The PYP programme provides students with the foundation required to succeed in subsequent stages.
After the PYP, students at JBS study the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The MYP prepares them for the IB Diploma Program. The MYP involves Grade 6 to Grade 10 students aged 11 to 16.
A two year academically rigorous program, the IB Diploma Programme (DP) prepares students that are in Grade 11 and 12 for the attainment of success at university. The programme addresses social, emotional, physical and intellectual well-being. Leading universities respect and appreciate the traits of IB based Diploma students.
The curriculum for the IB Diploma program is made up of DP core and six subject groups.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is an academic programme that prepares students for college/university education and work life. The core values of the IBDP programme are:
The Theory of knowledge for learning used in the IB curriculum creates cohesion in different academic disciplines. It encourages critical thinking enabling students to find commonalities between chosen subjects.
The Extended Essay (EE) allows students to write a detailed 4000 words essay. EE prepares students for research work.
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) focuses on the involvement of students in a wide range of activities alongside the academic studies across the Diploma Programme. These activities focus on a healthy lifestyle through physical activity, artistic thinking and more. The three pillars of CAS improve a student’s personal development through experiential learning.
There are six subject groups for students to choose from during the IB Diploma program:
Language Acquisition | Language and Literature |
Sciences | Individuals and Societies |
Mathematics | Arts |
To be eligible for the diploma, students study one subject from the first five groups, or Arts and one subject from any of five groups.
The IB career-related program (IBCP) uses the IB values to offer practical education to students. It caters to the requirements of students for career-related education.
The school offers the national diploma of BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council), which provides work-related specialist qualifications. BTEC courses are another attractive option for developing skills necessary for employment.

Candidates from every grade, from Grade 1 to Grade 12, are accepted for scholarships. Every student can apply for a scholarship, including those who are currently enrolled in any other academy.
The large-sized cafeteria on campus is managed by Slices — a popular food and beverage company. It has the vision to modify unhealthy eating patterns by offering hearty and notorious meals.
There are various options to pay for a meal at Slices. Students can use cash or Slice cards for payment. The Slice card is convenient and easy to use. Charges for each meal are deducted from the card after the child purchases food. Parents can always top up the card online without any hassle.
These meals are healthy, delicious and affordable. Students can choose from a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The menu is extensive and is changed timely.
The school transport at JBS is operated by a third party, Arab Falcon Bus Rental LLC, a well-known school transport company in UAE. All buses are equipped with safety features and adhere to the rules and regulations set by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). All bus drivers are trained by RTA. A nanny or helper is always present on the bus to look after children. Students from Grade 1 can be registered for bus service.

Currently, the school does not offer any boarding facility to its students.
In addition to the in-house extra-curricular activities in JBS, the school also arranges training camps in association with other leading providers. East Sports Management, a reputable sports training company in the UAE, conducts several camps.
Motivating students to participate in different sports, JBS gives every opportunity to unlock potential through a wide range of sporting activities. Studies have shown that when students are in the developmental phase, they are affected by sports activities.
Participating in sports can prevent students from getting ill and avoid chronic illnesses like obesity, diabetes, asthma, obesity, heart disease and sleep disorders.
Some noticeable sports facilities at the campus are:
Elementary Gym | Senior Indoor Sports Hall |
Athletics Track | Indoor Playroom |
Two Rooftop Tennis Courts | 25m Swimming Pool |

The field trips are planned carefully keeping the budget of parents in mind. Guardians are informed beforehand about the expenses of the trip so they can make a decision.
The extracurricular activities are available by third party providers after school hours. The after-school care activities are usually conducted from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
JBS also includes a health centre that has been well-equipped and also houses the school nurses. Health practitioners visit JBS every week to offer high-quality medical services. This includes a glucometer, nebuliser, oxygen cylinder, and sphygmomanometer.
Health services directly aligned with KHDA, JBS policies and Dubai Health Authority School guidelines have been beneficial for students. Students also have access to a healthy lunch box and health tips and suggestions for snacks, treating injuries, boosting immunity and staying fit.
Like other Taaleem schools, JBS has developed a 6-Delta Communicator app to keep the parents up to date during the school’s academic year.
The communicator app, along with diaries, is one of the most important sources of information with regards to general news, school-wide events, and other information. To be up to date with school news, school resources, letters, parent association messages and letters, the communicator can be effectively used. The school also has iSAMs – a school’s management information system that is easily accessible by parents. It provides attendance records, academic performance, notifications and news and other valuable information to parents.
Additionally, the school also uses WhatsApp groups as a mode of communication. These groups have teachers and parents of students in the same age group. Both can access the WhatsApp group to ask urgent enquiries.
