COVID-19 Protocols

To minimise the spread of coronavirus, the government of UAE decided to reopen schools in August for the academic year 2021 – 2022 with safety guidelines. Similarly, keeping in mind the health and safety of students and staff members, the Ministry of Education has designed strict SOPs for schools to follow while they are open.

  • No student, teacher or staff member will join the school before testing negative for COVID-19.
  • All students and teachers must get their body temperature checked in the morning before entering the school premises.
  • Classrooms will be set up to accommodate reduced capacity. Student desks will be set at a safe distance (1 meter); classrooms will use physical markings to ensure desks remain in the correct locations.
  • Lockers are permitted as long as physical distancing measures are not compromised and in such a way that each locker is designated to a specific student (alternated and not shared).
  • Certain play sections/areas should be closed (i.e. dress up sections, indoor soft play areas, reading corners with soft furniture). Open spaces should include furniture and equipment that is easy to clean.
  • Students below six years (below Grade 1) are not required to wear masks.
  • Students of Grade 1 and above, teachers and school staff members are required to bring a minimum of two masks to school each day.
  • Buses may run at full capacity but with safety measures in place.
  • Seating arrangements will be clearly marked out in canteen areas; no students will be permitted to sit directly adjacent or next to one another. A physical distance of 2 meters should be kept in canteen areas.
  • Schools can operate a pre-selected and pre-packed lunch service, with no live cooking taking place at school.
  • School events, extracurricular activities, after-school clubs and activities are allowed with approved protocols in place.
  • Schools shall resume field trips, holiday camps and sports events according to the approved protocols.

The curriculum at ISCS Muwaileh is based on the National Curriculum of England. How to Apply to International School of Creative Science Muwaileh

Parents who wish to enrol their child at ISCS Muwaileh can submit an application when admissions are opened in mid-January. The admissions process is simple. Follow these steps to secure your child’s admission at International School of Creative Science Muwaileh:

  • Ensure that your child meets the age requirements set by the SPEA for the required grade or year group.
  • Visit the school, fill out the application form available on the desk and submit it.
  • Submit a copy of your child’s passport, copy of each parent’s Emirates ID and most recent school report or letter issued by your child’s current school.
  • Once the form has been submitted, the school will invite your child for a computerised entrance exam and an interview (Years 1 to 13)
  • KG1 and KG2 students will be invited to the school along with their parents for a formal interview
  • Students must refer to the Sixth Form prospectus for details of each AS/A level course for admission to the Sixth Form.
  • The Registration Department and the Senior Leadership Team test and evaluate applications made throughout the year.
  • Upon successful application, the child will be offered a place at the school and notified by phone or email. Parents then have to visit the school to complete the remaining admission formalities.
  • Parents must submit the required documents within one week of the offer of placement to secure their child’s position in the school.

  • Copy of your child’s most recent report card or a ‘To Whom It May Concern’ letter from your child’s current school
  • Copy of each parent’s passport with valid residence visa (for expats)
  • Copy of each parent’s Emirates ID (front and back)
  • Copy of child’s passport with unified no. (for UAE) and valid residence visa (for expats)
  • Original and a copy of child’s Emirates ID card
  • Copy of child’s birth certificate
  • Copy of family register (for UAE applicants only)
  • Copy of child’s vaccination certificate and child’s medical file from the current school
  • One recent coloured photograph
  • Attested original transfer certificate (TC)
  • Attested original end of year school report
  • An admission fee of AED 500 is required to be paid at the time of registration.

The Transfer Certificate must be attested by the following authorities if:

  • Transferring from another school within the UAE
    • Should carry the stamp of the school and Educational Zone of that Emirate.
  • Transferring from GCC countries
    • GCC citizens: TC and report card should carry the stamp of the school and the stamp of the Ministry of Education.
    • Non-GCC citizens: TC  and report card should be stamped by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy of UAE in that country.
  • Transferring from any other country
    • Should carry the stamp of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy of UAE in that country.

The school will retain the original Transfer Certificate and report card in all cases. The documents submitted must be either in Arabic or English. If they are in any other language, get them translated and attested by the official translators.

Essential guidelines to keep in mind during the admissions procedure:

  • For all year groups, admissions will be based on the availability of seats, entrance exam results and passing the interview with the relevant Head of Section.
  • If the student is registered in any school following the British curriculum (Year System) within the UAE or abroad, they will be registered in the same grade in ISCS for the following academic year.
  • It is the responsibility of the parent to provide the required documents, including copies of the Resident Visa. By completing and signing the Registration Form, the parent accepts this responsibility. The school will not be held responsible if the Ministry refuses to register a child for any reason, including missing documentation listed above.

Important guidelines to keep in mind while paying the school fees:

  • Fees are paid in three instalments for the academic year, the first instalment is due on the 1st of September, the second instalment is due on the 1st of December, and the third instalment is due on the 1st of March.
  • Books, uniforms, transportation and canteen deposit fees should be paid along with the first instalment of tuition fees.
  • Medical fees are not included as part of the tuition fees.
  • Card payments are accepted, provided the full year fees are paid upfront.
  • Easy Payment Plans (EPP) offers are only available on fees paid via credit card.
  • For siblings attending the school, card payments will be accepted per student but must be paid upfront for the entire year.
  • Only Visa and Mastercard credit/debit cards are accepted.
  • BEAM has arrangements with the following partner institutions for EPP (monthly payment scheme with 0% profit rate. Processing fees may apply from the banks):
    • Emirates NBD Bank
    • Emirates Islamic Bank
  • Parents must contact the bank directly to activate EPP. Final approval is subject to the bank’s discretion.
  • Uniforms can only be purchased after paying fees for all students from the same family and clearance of outstanding dues (if any).
  • Your payment will not be complete until the message “Your payment was successful” is displayed on the screen.
  • If you are a member of the Dubai Police or the UAE Military (applicable for Dubai schools only), please visit the school to make your payment.
  • Any fee payments done at the school will be reflected on the online portal in 3 working days.

Discounts

The school offers some discounts to loyal parents, which are as follows:

  • A 5% discount on the annual tuition fee on enrolling a second child.
  • A 10% discount on the annual tuition fee on enrolling a third child.
  • A 15% discount on the annual tuition fee on enrolling a fourth child.
