Managed by PACE Education, Gulf Asian English School (GAES) opened in 1975 as Sharjah Montessori School. GAES attained a high school status in 1991, and in 1993, it got affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), New Delhi.

The school is located in Muwaileh – a community close to the industrial districts of Sharjah and the emirate of Dubai. The campus is close to one of the main highways of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311).

Gulf Asian Private School follows the CBSE Indian curriculum from Kindergarten until Grade 12. Students enrolled are aged 4 to 18 years. You can educate your child in a co-educational setting until Grade 4. From Grade 5 and above, boys and girls are taught separately.

COVID-19 Protocols

To minimise the spread of coronavirus, the government of UAE decided to reopen schools in September for the academic year 2020 – 2021 with safety guidelines. Similarly, keeping in mind the health and safety of students and staff members, the Ministry of Education has put strict SOPs in place for schools to follow while they are open.

  • All students and teachers must get their body temperature checked in the morning before entering the school premises.
  • Social distancing is to be ensured at all times – students must maintain a 2m distance
  • School buses will operate at reduced capacity (A school bus can only accommodate a maximum of 30 students).
  • The school premise will be sterilised periodically.
  • School catering service will be managed according to specific guidelines issued by the MOE. Parents are encouraged to provide home-made meals; however, sharing food isn’t allowed.
  • Children with special health conditions will be monitored closely by the ministry.
  • School events, field trips, extracurricular activities, after-school clubs and activities, sports events, holiday camps and celebrations are suspended until further notice.
  • Physical education will continue; however, access to swimming pools is not allowed. 
  • The maintenance and services crew is not allowed to enter educational institutions during working hours.
  • For now, the school fee remains unchanged for the next academic year. However, the school has the authority to offer discounts as they deem fit.

Since Gulf Asian English School Muwaileh Sharjah follows the Indian curriculum based on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, students are familiar with the UAE and the Indian culture. Distance Learning at Gulf Asian English School

The Ministry of Education made it mandatory for schools to offer distance learning. Hence, following these instructions, Gulf Asian English School in Sharjah is offering remote learning options to its students along with face-to-face learning. Students have access to pre-recorded learning sessions and they can attend live classes to ensure a smooth learning process.

Academic Calendar for Gulf Asian English School

Gulf Asian English School’s academic calendar starts in April and ends in March. The school calendar highlights dates for important school events including sports day, result day, National Day and others.

  • The first term starts in April and ends in June
  • The second term begins in September and ends in December
  • The third term resumes in January and ends in March

  • KG 1 and KG 2: 07:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Admission and Fees

How to Apply to Gulf Asian English School?

Gulf Asian English School’s admission process is open for children belonging to all nationalities. You can start the admission process by registering your child online. Once the registration is completed, your child will be called for an entrance exam

Please bear in mind that admission of your child depends on the performance in the entrance exam. Admission for KG 1 starts in November/December and for the rest of the classes in January

Also, priority is given to siblings of the existing students during admission. Parents are requested to submit the following documents during the admission process.

  • Photocopy of the child’s passport with the valid UAE visa
  • Three recent passport-sized photographs of the child
  • Copy of the Birth Certificate 
  • Copy of the Emirates ID
  • Photocopy of the original Mark Sheet of the last examination passed at the previous school (This is required for Grade 2 students and onwards).
  • From Grade 2 onwards, students are required to submit the Original Transfer Certificate Or School Leaving Certificate as per the guidelines given below:
  • For schools outside the UAE, the Transfer Certificate (in English) must be:
    • Attested and signed by the District Education Officer (for State / Matriculation Schools) / Zonal or Regional Officer (for CBSE / ICSE schools)
    • Attested by The UAE Embassy or Consulate in the country of origin
    • The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • For schools within the UAE, students are required to submit the original Transfer Certificate Or School Leaving Certificate of the school last attended, attested by the Ministry of Education for the Emirate (for other than Sharjah Zone Schools).
