COVID-19 Protocols

To minimise coronavirus spread, the UAE government decided to reopen schools with safety guidelines in place. Similarly, keeping in mind the health and safety of students and staff members, the Ministry of Education has put strict SOPs in place for schools to follow while they are open.

  • All students and teachers must get their body temperature checked in the morning before entering the school premises.
  • Social distancing is to be ensured at all times – students must maintain a 2m distance.
  • School buses will operate at reduced capacity (A school bus can only accommodate a maximum of 30 students).
  • The school premises will be sterilised periodically.
  • School catering service will be managed according to specific guidelines issued by the MOE. Parents are encouraged to provide homemade meals; however**, sharing food isn’t allowed.**
  • Children with special health conditions will be monitored closely by the ministry.
  • School events, field trips, extracurricular activities, after-school clubs and activities, sports events, holiday camps and celebrations are suspended until further notice.
  • Physical education will continue; however, access to swimming pools is not allowed. 
  • The maintenance and services crew are not allowed to enter educational institutions during working hours.
  • For now, the school fee remains unchanged for the next academic year. However, the school has the authority to offer discounts as they deem fit.

Global Indian School Curriculum

Global Indian School Ajman follows the CBSE curriculum from KG 1 until Grade 12. Besides core subjects, the school offers Hindi and Malayalam as second languages. Students are taught via child-centred activities under the CBSE syllabus. Apart from standard classroom teaching, GIS places more emphasis on personality and social behaviour development.

Students in secondary school can choose either Science or Commerce stream.

Distance Learning at Global Indian School

The Ministry of Education has launched the Distance Learning Initiative to address the changing dynamics because of the ongoing pandemic. Aligned with the MOE instructions, Global Indian School Al Jurf is offering remote learning opportunities to students, despite operating at full capacity. Admission and Fees

How to Apply to Global Indian School Ajman?

The admission process for KG students starts in October. Applications for the remaining classes are accepted in December. Normally, admissions are only open for KG, but other candidates are accepted based on the availability of seats.

Students enrolling in kindergarten do not have to appear for an entrance exam, while students seeking admission in other classes will have to clear an admission test.

You can fill the registration form online or collect it from the school administration department. Incomplete forms will not be entertained. Besides this, please ensure that you have the following documents ready when applying at GIS:

  • A copy of the applicant’s passport with a valid residence visa page
  • 2 passport size photographs
  • A copy of the Birth Certificate
  • A copy of the Vaccination Card
  • A copy of the report card (from the previous school)
  • Emirates ID
  • Father’s passport copy with a valid resident visa page
  • Students seeking admission and who are at present studying at any of the schools in the UAE should attach their ‘Transfer Certificate’ attested by the Ministry of Education of their particular zone.
  • Students from abroad should have the Transfer Certificate attested by the following departments:
    • Ministry of Education or the Education Bureau of the country
    • Indian Consulate in Dubai ( Signature of D.E.O to be attested)
    • Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE

GIS School Al Jurf provides transportation facilities for its students. The school has 20 well-equipped buses. The bus service covers areas in Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. To use the transport facility, you must visit the school campus and discuss your location with the transport manager to confirm the pick-up and drop-off location and time.

Once the location has been discussed and payment is made, your child can start using the bus service. However, any change in your home address has to be reported to the transportation department immediately.
