ADEK school ratings
ADEK school ratings explained

In the latest inspection conducted by ADEK for the academic year 2018-2019, the school was rated ‘Good’ for their overall performance. The report has clearly identified the key areas of strength for the school. This is seen through improvements made by students in most of the subjects, also in their personal development, their attitudes and their interactions with others. Students have a good understanding of Islamic values and Emirati culture. Improvements have also been made by the school in the breadth and range of learning opportunities provided for the students.

The school provides a safe and healthy environment that protects the welfare of all its students. GIIS has an effective leadership, self-evaluation, and an improvement planning process.

However, the following recommendations were made by ADEK to increase the overall performance of the school:

  • The school needs to make major improvements in the Arabic subject.
  • GIIS Abu Dhabi needs to plan and improve assessments, especially with Gifted and Talented students.
  • Teachers need to be trained on the effective use of technology and resources so that students can understand and be challenged in their learning of core subjects
  • GIIS needs to develop the use of benchmarking internal assessments to international standards.
