What is a MoonSwatch?
The Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection is a series of 12 wristwatches launched as part of a collaboration between Swatch and OMEGA. Their design is based on the iconic piece that was the first wristwatch worn to space as part of the Apollo moon missions, the Apollo Speedmaster Moonwatch.
The current series is themed after the planets, moons and suns of our solar system, with each piece being modelled on a journey to a specific astronomical destination. Examples include Mission to Mars, Mission to Earth and so on.
The watches are only available in select Swatch stores throughout the world. Pre-bookings are not entertained and these watches are only available on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.
It’s important to note that the pieces are not part of a limited edition collection, so there’s still plenty of time to get your hands on these much-desired timepieces.

Original Collection
The original 11 MoonSwatches launched by the brands took the UAE by storm when they were first introduced. The now very well-established collection includes:
Moonshine Gold
The 12th addition to the MoonSwatch series was launched in March 2023. The watch is basically a recreation of the Mission to the Moon piece with the seconds hand painted with Omega Moonshine™ Gold. As per the MoonSwatch website, the “pink Super-LumiNova detail” is a reference to the “Pink Full Moon of April.”
Mission to Mercury
The Mercury MoonSwatch, fashioned after the closest planet to the sun, is as hot as its namesake. Choose to “board the mission” and you’ll get to call this stunning timepiece your own. The watch is encircled by a beautiful, metallic grey VELCRO© strap.
Mission to Venus
Your ladylove, or anyone who loves pink, will adore Mission to Venus. The powder pastel hue goes perfectly with the white VELCRO© strap. Completing the look are the minute, hour and second hands, also in pink.
Mission on Earth
Those who prefer something closer to home can opt for the Mission on Earth, aptly accompanied by a navy blue strap, with both the counter and seconds hands being brown.
Mission to the Moon
This product sports the exact dimensions and design that the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch was famous for. The steel grey watch has a black strap.
Mission to Mars
Turn up the heat by boarding the Mission to Mars. The blazing red tones in this MoonSwatch in Dubai come alive with the white dial and strap. Adding to the playful design are miniature spacecraft shapes in the hours and minute dials.
Mission to Jupiter
The Mission to Jupiter is larger than life in design, much like its counterpart planet. All MoonSwatches can glow in the dark and feature the OmegaxSwatch branding, MoonSwatch and Speedmaster logo. Additionally, every battery cover has a picture of the planet it is designed after.
MISSION TO MOOSHINE GOLD
After the immense success of the original MoonSwatch series, Swatch released a special edition to its Mission to Moon every month in 2023 — based on a cultural theme respective of the month of release.
The first monthly special edition, Mission to Moonshine Gold, launched in March with the Mission to Moon. Like all in the series, it features a Moonshine gold chronograph hand made during the previous month’s full moon.
Subsequent launches that followed featured varying designs on the minute hand.

Mission to the Moonphase
The “Mission to the Moonphase” collection, featuring the “Full Moon” and “New Moon” models, launched on March 26, 2024. Both models have a moon phase indicator with Snoopy, a black semi-transparent mask, and a hidden message under UV ligh. These came after the original 11 MoonSwatches from 2022, with a special “Mission to the Pink Moonphase” released as a limited edition in April 2025.

These wrist watches are made from bio-sourced plastic and ceramic.
Swatch is currently not offering the collection on its web store.
