ABOUT DUBAI SOUTH
Based on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai South is a multi-phase development. The master-planned city dubbed as “The Centre of Tomorrow” that was launched in 2006 as Dubai World Central (DWC) was renamed in 2015. Along with a complete residential district with a wide range of amenities, Dubai South is home to the Expo City (at Expo 2020 site), Al Maktoum International Airport and a Business Park.

As the area is divided into diverse districts, the properties are built by many leading developers in the city. The Exhibition Site is being developed by the government while Emaar South is a mega-project headed by Emaar Properties. Public transportation near Dubai South
There are three arterial roads which make reaching Dubai South easier; Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed Road and Emirates Road. The RTA managed bus F55 services the area.
Dubai South will not only have its own metro line, Route 2020 which is an extension of the current Red Line of Dubai Metro. This will create convenience in travelling especially for people who have to travel from home to their work regularly.

SUPERMARKETS IN DUBAI SOUTH
The area will have many supermarkets upon completion, but some supermarkets in Dubai South are already operational. Zoom Supermarket lies close to Al Maktoum International Airport. Sunrise City Supermarket, Sand Marco Supermarket, Madinat Supermarket and JMA Supermarket are some supermarkets that are currently operating in the area.
CHURCHES, TEMPLES AND MOSQUES IN DUBAI SOUTH
Dubai South is a huge area and will be home to around 1 million people belonging to different cultures and religions. Right now there are no temples or churches in Dubai South.
The nearest churches from the area are United Christian Church of Dubai, St. Gregorios Orthodox Church and Dubai Evangelical Church Centre both at a 25-minute drive in Jebel Ali.
The Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Gurudwara is a large Sikh gurudwara located in Al Muntazah, it is 25 minutes away. Hindu temples are located in Bur Dubai, a drive of 45 minutes at the minimum.
Regarding mosques, there are already a few mosques in Dubai South. The number is expected to triple by the time of completion of residential projects of Dubai South. Al Maktoum Airport Mosque is one such mosque in Dubai South.
SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES NEAR DUBAI SOUTH
Right now there are a few schools near Dubai South in Dubai Investments Park. Dove Green Private School follows the British curriculum, Greenfield Community School offers the American curriculum, Bright Riders School features the Indian curriculum while British Columbia Canadian School offers the Canadian curriculum.
The number of schools and other educational centres will increase when the residential project is fully developed.
As the area is a proud core land for Al Maktoum International Airport, there is Emirates Aviation Services LLC close to the airport site that serves as a training and learning centre of civil aviation.

MALLS IN DUBAI SOUTH
The shopping needs of people living in this district will soon be fulfilled. There will be mega malls in Dubai South. As for now, Ibn Battuta Mall can be reached within 25 minutes and The Outlet Village by Meraas is 22 minutes away.
Other nearby malls include Dubai Marina Mall, Mall of the Emirates and the world-renowned Dubai Mall. These shopping destinations can be reached within a 40-minute drive.

Several off-plan commercial projects and restaurant chains will launch in the area by early 2020, but many international food chains and restaurants in Dubai South are already operational. Olives Restaurant which has many branches in Dubai is already serving in the premises of Dubai South while McDonald’s is the number one choice for fast-food lovers. Skini Panini, Coffee Pushin and Golos Italia Restaurant are located in the Logistics District of Dubai South. The nearest Asian restaurant is Sarhad Darbar in the neighbouring Dubai Investment Park.
Riverland Dubai which is part of Dubai Parks and Resorts has a wide range of restaurants which are 20 minutes away. Popular casual dining restaurants in Riverland Dubai include Super Chix, Olive Garden, TGI Fridays and The Coffee Club.
BEACHES NEAR DUBAI SOUTH
Jebel Ali Beach is one of the best public beaches in Dubai accessible at a drive of 23 minutes while JBR Beach is not more than half an hour away from the community.

The popular Banan Beach used to be a hot spot for picnics near Dubai South, it does charge an admission fee. There are spaces dedicated to green areas in every district. Many of the residential communities have planned large communal parks for their residents.
Mia Fitness Center is the only gym currently operating within the vicinity. Other gyms that are easily accessible are Hybrid Gym and Tawash Gym in Dubai Investments Park.
