Spread across 1.9 square miles, Al Wathba is a developing community in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Here, one can spot key cultural attractions and landmarks including Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival and Wathba Wetland Reserve. The development started back in 2008 and today, one can find a few villas while most of the residential area is under construction. Moreover, it is well-connected to the network of main highways.

Wathba Abu Dhabi, despite being away from the emirate’s central districts is turning into a sought-after neighbourhood. It is the centre of attention, especially during the festive season. Moreover, the residential area will have several properties.

One can find some newly constructed villas in Al Wathba Abu Dhabi. These are on offer for rent and sale. A standard 4-bedroom villa spans around 2,500 sq. ft. and features built-in wardrobes and well-fitted bathrooms and kitchen. Some properties also include ample external space, a lawn and parking area as well as a cosy balcony. The average rent of such units starts from AED 125k per annum.

Those planning to move to Wathba are recommended to have private conveyance. The community is well-connected to the main roads and parking is also not an issue. Residents can park their cars in the dedicated parking spaces in the residential area.

There are many notable schools near Al Wathba. Abu Dhabi Indian School is a private institute within the community. Other nearby options include Al Ruwaad Model School and United School of Baniyas. Both are easily accessible by car.

Mediclinic Baniyas is a short drive away. One can easily reach there within 5 to 10 minutes by car. It is one of the most reputed medical service providers with branches all around Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The community is situated away from the emirate’s central region. It is bound by Al Ain Road that connects commuters to key areas of Abu Dhabi. Communities relatively closer would be ICAD, Al Bihouth and Bawabat Al Sharq.

Al Raha Village Shopping Centre is 7 minutes away from Wathba. There are many retail stores, dining outlets and a hypermarket in the mall. Some fun activities for kids are also available here.

There are a few family-friendly restaurants near Al Wathba such as Karyat Al Madina Restaurant, Top Four Restaurant and Hope Restaurant. These are around 5 to 7 minutes away from the community. Shezan Restaurant is also close by if you are craving for Arabic cuisine.

The community is all about dunes and desert. One can take safari rides or explore the oasis on a horseback. There are also many fun activities for kids and adults alike at the festivals arranged in the heritage village. Moreover, Al Wathba Wetland Reserve is a family-favourite spot to spend a weekend evening. There are around 250 species of birds and a wide variety of fauna and aquatic life. Entrance is free.

Wathba is the centre of activities including biking and camel racing. There’s usually a calendar full of such events. Camel races are organised early morning during weekends. Those looking to stay fit can find a few gyms nearby but you might have to pull a car out to reach there.

Residents are in the vicinity of Sheikh Zayed Heritage Village, the grand venue of the UAE’s annual cultural festival. Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival is the largest annual family event held in Abu Dhabi. Besides cultural performances, the festival also welcomes food and retail stalls by international sellers.

Those planning to move to Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi can consider that the location is a bit away from the emirate’s centre. It is recommended to have a private conveyance as the area is well connected to the main road network.
