ABOUT AL MAHATAH
Al Mahatah is a mixed residential and commercial suburb of Sharjah in the Al Qasimia district. Location-wise, it enjoys seamless connectivity to the key landmarks of Sharjah. First, it was planned as a big project of numerous buildings with residential and serviced apartments. Al Mahatah Fort was just one of these buildings that served as a motel for tourists and as a short staycation spot. This fort has now purposely turned into Al Mahatah Museum, which displays historical innovations and crafts of old industries.
Most importantly, the community is tied to its history, representing it out-loud through construction techniques and the design and architecture of the buildings. Having clusters of low, mid and high-rise apartment buildings, Al Mahatah offers a wide range of residential flats for locals and expats.

Al Mahatah is a cheerful community, containing many parks, playgrounds, walking tracks, parking spaces and friendly neighbourhood cafes. Because the area is safe and not too crowded, kids play and ride bikes in the streets. CHURCHES, TEMPLES AND MOSQUES IN AL MAHATAH
There aren't any churches in Al Mahatah at the moment but there are plenty in the neighbouring district of Al Yarmook. Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Russian Orthodox Church, Saint Gregory Armenian Orthodox, Amazing Grace Church and several others are less than 10 minutes away.
King Faisal Mosque is a popular landmark in this town. Other community mosques in Al Mahatah are Ibn Othaimeen Mosque and Rawan Tower Mosque. Hindu residents will have to travel to Bur Dubai in Dubai, 30 minutes away to visit Hindu temples and Sikh gurudwaras.

There are many nurseries, special education institutes and high schools in Al Mahatah. Parents can send their toddlers to Al Farha Nursery that provides education for foundation stages as well as day care services to the little ones. Al Qasimia Primary School, Emirates Private School and Khalid Bin Mohamed School in neighbouring Al Manakh are the most noteworthy choices nearby.
Higher education options can be found in University City Sharjah, 20 minutes away from the community. Here you will find many reputable universities, colleges and institutes.

Prime Medical Center, Kaya Skin Clinic, Yas Dental Clinic and Health Care Medical Centre are some reputable clinics in Al Mahatah.
If you’re looking for a hospital near Al Mahatah, head towards King Faisal Street where there is Medcare Hospital. Going in the opposite direction towards Al Ghuwair, you find NMC Medical, Al Saha Al Shifa Hospital and Thumbay Hospital and Day Care Centre.
Al Mahatah enjoys access to all the key areas of the emirate via a large network of roads. Moreover, it shares its boundaries with mixed-used districts of Sharjah leaving the community in proximity to offices, commercial hubs, local shops and malls. On its southern end is Al Nud, Bu Daniq to its east, Al Manakh and Al Yarmook in the northern region and Rolla Area in the west.

MALLS NEAR AL MAHATAH
Mega Mall near Al Mahatah is one of the best leisure destinations in the area. Mega Mall Sharjah is the closest shopping option, located in Al Bu Daniq. It has a cinema, a food court, multiple dining outlets and loads of brand and retail outlets.
Oasis Mall Sharjah in Al Ghubaiba is another shopping option for residents. It has a large Max Fashion store, a children's play area and a vast food court.

Al Mahatah doesn’t host any community events, but it is located next to King Faisal Mosque that lights up during religious Islamic festivals like Ramadan and Eid.
