Al Falaj is home to Cultural Palace Sharjah which is known for hosting concerts and different cultural events. Sharjah Folklore Poetry Festival and Sharjah School Theatre Festival are a few of the annual events in Sharjah hosted by Cultural Palace.

Al Falaj is a family-friendly community with all the basic amenities and facilities in the vicinity. It is encircled by some of the popular governmental offices and landmarks of the city. Although the area is adjacent to E88 which connects the area to internal areas of the city as well as the major highway of the emirate, there is a lack of public transportation in the area. It is more convenient for residents to rely on their vehicles for their commute.
