Are you looking to rent an apartment somewhere that’s green? As the name suggests, The Greens is all about relaxed living in sunbathed greenery. A good mixture of low-rise and high-rise apartment buildings, all Greens rentals look at either green streetscapes, the Emirates Golf Club, or, in the worst-case scenario, an open swimming pool. The Greens community is ideal for singles and families looking to rent reasonably priced accommodation. The buildings are all sand-coloured and with good finishes (courtesy of the UAE’s leading developer Emaar).
Accessibility and Commute Times to/from The Greens - The Greens community is just off Dubai’s central road, Sheikh Zayed Road and close to popular business hubs such as Dubai Marina, Dubai Internet City, Media City, Knowledge Village and Barsha Heights. Some of the high-rise buildings like Fairways even offer breathtaking views of Dubai Marina and the Emirates Golf Club. Many of the rentals are in walking distance from the metro line (Internet City Metro Station), although you can easily catch RTA’s taxi service. Finally, due to almost instant access to SZR, Mall of the Emirates is a 10-minute drive away to those who rent an apartment in The Greens. Dubai International Airport is approximately 30 minutes away.
Apartments in The Greens - There are options for both furnished or unfurnished apartments for rent in The Greens. These include studios, 1-bedroom apartments, 2-beds, 3-beds and 4-beds. You can choose if you’d like a communal view, street view or pool view. Although most rentals in The Greens don’t come with a washing machine (depending on the owner), they do come with pretty much everything else. The kitchens are mostly fully equipped, and on the smaller size, so you get to enjoy spacious dining and living rooms. More importantly, all the buildings have access to private pool, gym, children’s play areas, kid’s pools, basketball courts and barbeque areas.
Lifestyle and Community in The Greens - The Greens is a mixed community, although Brits and other Western expats dominate. So, it is no surprise that there is a Nando’s restaurant as soon as you get into the locality via the main street, Street 3. There is also a Caribou and a few other restaurants scattered around, such as the hipster restaurant Arrows & Sparrows. The main attraction for renters in The Greens, however, is The Greens Village Mall that houses a large Choitrams supermarket, a pharmacy, a beauty parlour, men’s hairdresser’s, a pizzeria, and much more. Yoga House on Street 1 is highly recommended. School-wise, there is Regent International School, and there are a few schools in the nearby Al Barsha and Emirates Hills as well.
Added Value in The Greens - Unlike many areas of Dubai, the Greens has no crowded highways and complicated roundabouts. In the Greens, expats get from point A to B mostly by foot and using shaded paths. The area is on the smaller side and many buildings are low-rise, so there is a strong community feel. If you’re looking to lease an apartment with a terrace, all the rental listings in the Greens have either balconies or if they’re on the ground floor terraces. So, if you like that ‘hey, neighbour!’ feeling, you can’t go wrong with renting in The Greens. Also, if you have a pet, this is the right area for you.
