How Does Area Prime Slot Work?
Area Prime Slot is the first listing a property seeker sees when searching for properties in a specific area, category (residential or commercial) or purpose (rent or sale). Agents and admins can purchase these spots by participating in an online auction on Profolio™, where they can place bids. Slots that aren’t auctioned off, either due to incomplete payments or lack of bids, will be available for instant sale.
How to Bid for Your Area Prime Slot
Auctions for the Area Prime Slot open on the 18th of every month and last till the 24th of the same month. Here’s how you can bid for your Area Prime Slot:
- From the 1st to the 17th of every month, you can see all the available spots and their starting prices. Take this time to identify the listings in which you would like the Area Prime Slot and plan your budget accordingly.
- You can add slots to your Watchlist to stay updated on when the auction goes live.
- Add your card details to participate in the auction. Click on ‘Get qualified for bidding’ and enter the required information.
The live auctions begin at 9:30 am on the 18th and end at 5:30 pm on the 24th of each month.
On the 18th, you’ll see that the ‘Place Bid’ button has turned green, which means you can start bidding. Each listing will show your agency’s bidding status, i.e. no bids placed, failing bid, or winning bid. Click on ‘Place Bid’ to start bidding.
Each bid prompt initiates at the predefined base price.
- When you click on ‘Place Bid’, you can see the current price and time left before the auction closes. Here, you can enter the price you’re willing to spend for the Area Prime Slot.
Please note that bids must increase by a minimum of 10% from the predefined base price.
- You can either manually continue bidding by selecting the ‘Update Bid’ button, or opt for Auto-Bid. To Auto-Bid, enter your maximum budget and the auction automatically places bids on your behalf. You can see the status of your bid in real-time.
- Select ‘View Activity’ to see all the bids placed by other agencies.
- Auctions end at 5.30 pm on the 24th of every month. Select ‘View my Slots’ to find the Area Prime Slots that you have won.
- Payments for your Area Prime Slot should be completed within 72 hours of winning the auction. Complete your payment by clicking on the ‘Pay Now’ button. You can pay with a Credit or Debit card, or a bank transfer with uploaded proof of payment.
- If the top bidder does not complete their transaction on time, the second-highest bidder is automatically offered the spot at their top bid price.
- Once you have completed the payment, the listing is marked as Upcoming.
Instant Purchase
Any Area Prime Slots unsold during the bidding period will be available for Instant Purchase. These spots will be available at their original base price, adjusted for the number of days left in the month. Select ‘Buy Now’ to purchase these Area Prime Slots.
Your Area Prime Slot’s Performance
Your listing as an Area Prime Slot will take the first place on Bayut’s property searches for an entire month. Once active, you can track your listing’s performance (impressions, clicks and leads) by selecting ‘Detailed insights’.
At the end of the month, the listing is marked ‘Completed’.
