The development was put on hold in 2009, no doubt due to the prevailing financial situation that delayed many building projects in Dubai. It wasnt until 2015 that the project was resurrected, with a revised design and under the control of a new developer, Sol Properties.

Pop concerts are held at Zabeel Stadium, also the home ground of U. A. E. League soccer team Al Wasl, while Al Jaddaf creekside promenade is known for sunset views of the Burj Khalifa.
