23 Marina is a super-tall luxury residential skyscraper in the ever-expanding metropolis of Dubai. The project is built on a podium, housing a six-story-high entry hall featuring geometric designs in the flooring and slanted glass walls, and is replete with a waterfall sculpture behind the concierge desk. An outdoor swimming pool at the ground level of the building directly abuts the glass lobby area, drawing on the theme of water and the nearby waterfront. The tower structure on top of the podium is constructed in an octagonal shape, which maximizes the far-reaching views from the apartments. The tower employs a curtain wall system of exposed white concrete and tinted blue glass; the faades gather at the top of the building, meeting in a dramatic pointed spire, much like a ball point pen. The spire is embraced by triangular canopies covering the rooftop terrace, which serve to streamline the buildings form.
