About the Area
The Muzayra'a area has undergone numerous vital projects supervised by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, located nearby and just a few minutes' drive away. The most notable of these is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office project, which covers an area of 46,800 square meters and has a total cost of AED 32.6 million. The project took into account the sustainability standards that the UAE is keen to meet and enhance in every project and building. The project, which consists of a main building and others for services and certifications, includes energy-saving LED lighting and thermal wall insulation. A wastewater treatment plant was also developed for use in agriculture, irrigation, and other purposes. It is also worth noting that the building provides approximately 443 parking spaces designated for employees, visitors, people of determination, and others.
Another vital project undertaken in the region is an additional building for the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, costing approximately AED 16.2 million. The project includes a three-story main building and two service buildings designed to incorporate new standards and principles, such as recycling, waste monitoring, and efforts to reduce waste. The Sharjah General Command building project, which consists of ten buildings, includes a ground-floor main building and two additional floors housing 14 departments and branches, in addition to operations, service, and appointment buildings, as well as a mosque and guard rooms. The estimated cost of the project is AED 167 million, with a total area of 233,000 square meters. Designed in accordance with Islamic architecture and utilizing the most advanced construction techniques and methods, the project's progress was monitored using virtual and augmented reality screens to display the stages of completion and remote monitoring. It is worth noting that the project adheres to international standards for modern buildings, providing 669 parking spaces, including 266 shaded parking spaces. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs building in the Muzayra'a area in April 2021. Designed in accordance with sustainability standards, the building offers a variety of high-quality services related to residency, foreigners' affairs, identity and citizenship services, and more. The new building covers a total area of 19,000 square meters and includes a spacious lobby that accommodates a large number of customers. The building, with its luxurious architectural design and open, green spaces, includes approximately 100 offices for processing various transactions, a state-of-the-art theater that can accommodate approximately 385 people, several meeting rooms designated for each department and designed to ensure complete privacy, training halls, and a mosque that can accommodate approximately 170 worshippers. Complementing Sharjah Municipality's plans to ensure the area is efficiently served, an ADNOC station was opened to facilitate fuel and petroleum refueling for all residents and even passersby.
