Discovery Gardens is a six kilometre long residential district situated in Jebel Ali between Sheikh Zayed Road and Emirates Road. The development was completed in 2008 and was one of the first 'newer' apartment communities to be built on the edge of Dubai.
The district contains more than 26,000 affordable studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Add to this a continual array of events and promotions and you can see why you wouldnt want to pop in here just to buy a newspaper.
In January 2017 Nakheel announced a series of new, linked cycle routes to be created around its communities in Dubai, including a 40km track through Discovery Gardens, Garden View Villas and Al Furjan. Alongside this, a new 10km "super loop" speed track for experienced cyclists, with a smaller 5km loop inside it, is being built on a section of land between Jumeirah Park and Discovery Gardens. Work on the network of tracks started in mid 2017 and is expected to be finished in 2019.
