Abu Dhabi has a hot desert climate (Köppen climateclassification BWh). Sunny blue skies can be expected throughoutthe year. Abu Dhabi's original name was Milh "salt", possiblyreferring to the salty water of the Persian Gulf, or the ancient salt marshes that surround the city.
