COVID-19 Protocols

To minimise the spread of coronavirus, the UAE government decided to reopen schools with safety guidelines. Similarly, keeping in mind the health and safety of students and staff members, the Ministry of Education has put strict SOPs in place for schools to follow while they are open.

  • Sterilising the school building, classrooms, laboratories and other facilities regularly, according to the recommendations of the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management.
  • Assessing the temperature of everyone who enters the school building daily.
  • Maintaining physical distance guidelines as recommended by the relevant health authorities and reducing the headcount capacity in classrooms.
  • Seats will be placed 1.5 metres apart in classrooms.
  • Keeping the bus capacity between 30% and 50%.
  • Limiting gatherings and suspending group activities such as school celebrations and sports events.
  • Appointing a trained health and safety officer to ensure that people and processes in the school comply with health and safety protocols.
  • Physical education will continue; however, swimming pools will be closed.
  • School-wide events such as sports day, assemblies, international days, activities are put on hold.
  • Students can either attend classes in person or opt for distance or E-learning; schools can and should provide 100% distance learning provisions.
  • For now, schools’ fees remain unchanged for the next academic year; however, schools have the authority to offer discounts as they deem fit.
  • COVID-19 PCR testing is not mandatory for students without travel history. Only those who show symptoms of COVID-19 are required to take the PCR test.

Grades Offered at International Indian School Ajman

International Indian School United Arab Emirates is an all-through facility that delivers the Indian curriculum from Kindergarten until Grade 12. However, from Grade 5 and above, boys and girls are taught separately.

International Indian School Ajman Curriculum

International Indian School Ajman curriculum is more or less the same from the primary stage until Grade 8. Core subjects include English, Maths, Environmental Science, a second language, and Computer.

From Grade 1, students are introduced to MOE subjects like Arabic Studies, UAE Social Studies, Islamic Studies for Muslim students and Moral Education for non-Muslim students. Similarly, the school introduces Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, French, Tamil, Bangla and Special Arabic as second languages in Grade 1 to Grade 10.

As soon as students are promoted to middle school, general subjects take the form of specialised courses. For instance, Science is divided into Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Social Science is taught with a focus on Geography, History and Political Life.

The CBSE curriculum is followed from Grade 9 until secondary school. In Grade 11 and Grade 12, students can choose either Science or Commerce stream. Each stream covers five subjects.

Distance Learning at International Indian School Ajman

International Indian School by Habitat Group offered the option of online learning from home and blended learning. The latter is where students can take online classes for a few days and attend in-class lessons for the remaining days.
