Lifeguards keep an eye on the crowds, a kiosk serves up hot and cold refreshments and on Sundays and Wednesdays, the entire place is open only to the fairer gender. Entry is Dhs5 per person and Dhs20 per car.
Jumeirah Beach Park, Jumeirah 2 is also adjacent to Safa Park, which was one of Dubai's largest green areas, but cut dramatically in size with the Canal project. That said, it continues to exist, even if its BBQ areas, tennis and basketball courts, have been lost.
Jumeirah 2 is one step closer to new Dubai than Jumeirah 1, and can be a struggle in the morning and evening getting to and from areas you are likely to be working in. Traffic around Al Wasl road near Safa park can be horrendous with too many cars trying to get on and off Sheikh Zayed road. The journey through Jumeirah 1 and onto Al Diyafah Street is no better.
