1. THE WORD ‘AIN’ MEANS EYE IN ARABIC
One of the most interesting Ain Dubai facts is that its name literally translates to Dubai Eye. The word ‘Ain’ is an Arabic word that translates to ‘Eye’ in English. This is the reason why many people refer to it as the Dubai Eye Ferris Wheel, with some even calling in Dubai Ain. This a fitting name for this attraction in Dubai because it will allow residents and tourists alike to see impressive cityscape views of famous landmarks such as Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah and Burj Khalifa from a whole new perspective.
2. THE EXACT HEIGHT OF AIN DUBAI IS STILL A MYSTERY

That’s right, Ain Dubai will feature a bit of European spirit since 48 of its high-tech passenger capsules are being manufactured by Swiss Rides on behalf of the project’s main contractor, Hyundai. Another one of the interesting facts about Ain Dubai is that the eight rim sections have all been produced using the highest-grade German and Korean steel. (These are transported to Bluewaters Island, the home of Ain Dubai, by barge). So, we can say that Ain Dubai by Meeras will be a UAE landmark with a superb international pedigree.
4. The ain Dubai Ferris Wheel WILL WEIGH MORE THAN THE EIFFEL TOWER
One of the top five facts about Ain Dubai is that it weighs more than Eiffel Tower! Europe’s largest structure weighs 7,300 tonnes while Ain Dubai with its hub, spindle and other parts is expected to weigh almost 25% more (9,000 tonnes total). In order to move the sections of the wheel rim whilst buildings, the engineers have to use cranes with a lifting capacity of 3000 tonnes!
5. IT WILL BE SMART
Like many projects in Dubai, the Ain Dubai Ferris wheel will fall in line with the overriding vision of the UAE to make Dubai the happiest city on Earth by using smart technology. Therefore, the travel capsules will all feature smart climate control during the 48-minute long ride. Furthermore, the capsules will have LED screens offering the travellers information on all the spectacular views beneath. And, if that’s not enough, there’s also talk of an LED Screen mounted on the screen as an electronic platform for advertising, broadcasting and other information.
AIN DUBAI OPENING DATE
The official Ain Dubai opening date is set for sometime after 20 October 2020. It is currently in its final stages of construction but the Ain Dubai opening date is set to fall in line launch of the Expo 2020.
