ALL ABOUT THE DUBAI WATERSPORTS FESTIVAL
The Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) was established to actualise the vision of the late His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
DIMC over the years has developed rapidly to became the first African and Arab club that has attained the coveted International Membership of the Union International Motonautique (UIM). Boasting a marina with a capacity of over 400 yachts, a sailing club, a helipad and world-class facilities, the DIMC is well-known in the region for organisisng various watersport festivals and events like the Continental Beach Soccer Championship, Dubai International Boat Show and the Dubai Tour.
Dubai Watersports Festival is an interesting addition to the Dubai International Marine Club’s colourful calendar. The event kicked off in October 2020 and its final week is expected to commence on 27th March 2021. The festival has been organised to create awareness about watersports in the UAE.
The Dubai Watersports Festival has been divided into four events.
DUBAI WATERSPORTS FESTIVAL – HEAT 1
For the first Heat of the event in October 2020, participants aged 8 to 15 learned Jetski (Aquabike) and Motosurf under the supervision of experts. Celebrated coach Chris Wilkinson supervised the training sessions for the Jetski while Martin Vleck of Jetsurf took over the Motorsurf training. Junior athletes were given a chance to improve their technique and skill set in a safe environment at the picturesque Al Mamzar lake!
DUBAI WATERSPORTS FESTIVAL: WE KAYAK FOR PEOPLE OF DETERMINATION
The second race was held on January 2021 at Crystal Lake. It was a special event because, for the first time ever, People of Determination were able to take part in a Kayaking competition in Dubai. The noble cause garnered a lot of well-deserved attention and the event’s aim was to empower People of Determination.
DUBAI WATERSPORTS FESTIVAL – HEAT 3
The next race at Dubai Watersports Festival will be the third race of the ongoing festival. It will be held at Off Shore Dubai and is expected to feature interesting competitions.

The last event of the Dubai Watersports Festival will kickstart on 27th March 2021 at Off Shore Dubai.
