The Dubai Expo 2020 is exactly one year away. The excitement that's buzzing around town is undeniable! To keep the spirits high there was a spectacular set of events to mark the Dubai Expo 2020 countdown across the UAE under the title of 'The Spirit of 1 Year to Go'. Here's what happened at the Expo 2020 Dubai Countdown celebrations.

For those wondering when will Dubai Expo 2020 start, it will begin on 20 October 2020 and go on until 10 April 2021.
Live The Spirit of 1 Year to Go: Highlights for the one-year countdown to Expo 2020 Dubai
This time next year the city will be raising the curtain on arguably the biggest event to ever happen in the region! It's was only fitting that the day is marked for the coming of such a milestone with a thrilling line up of events.
To mark the Expo 2020 Dubai one year countdown all the seven emirates were lit up with a remarkable spectacle of live entertainment, music, food and more which will be free for all to attend!
Here's a look at all the events that took place for the Expo 2020 Dubai Countdown.
Dubai: Mariah Carey and Hussain Al Jassmi live at Burj Park Downtown Dubai
Taking place in the centre of the Downtown Dubai area, Burj Park was lit up for the Expo 2020 countdown in Dubai. Hussain Al Jassmi serenaded the audience with his famous hits and there was a reveal of the official Expo 2020 mascots, Latifa and Rashid. Dubai hosted the main event for the Expo 2020 Countdown, so an extra special display of fireworks and LED light show at Burj Khalifa was set up to begin the countdown. Superstar Mariah Carey then took the stage to conclude the event with a bang!

DJ Bliss, Abri & The Funk Radius, and Khalifa Nasser were also part of the event entertaining guests throughout the evening. There were also be plenty of food stalls, artists and other activation stalls to keep energy levels high!
Tickets to the Dubai event for the Expo 2020 countdown were sold out. But the neighbouring emirates were also live screening of the countdown show for the Dubai Expo 2020.
FREE EXPO 2020 BOOKMARKS AND PERFORMANCES AT DXB AIRPORT
Apart from this, travellers travelling the Dubai International Airport (DXB), got to witness special music performances from 20 drummers from across continents. The performers were set to serenade travellers through all airport’s concourses to finish off with a grand performance in Concourse B, close to gates B28 and B26. Special edition Expo 2020 bookmark that boasts the slogan "One year to go for the World's Greatest Show" were also handed out.

Abu Dhabi: Live screening of the Dubai Expo 2020 countdown show at Louvre Abu Dhabi
If you happen to live in the Saadiyat Island community, you're must have caught the Expo countdown show in Dubai. The world-famous Louvre Abu Dhabi was live screening the Dubai Expo 2020 countdown event free of charge! Just like Dubai, there was tons of food and fun to enjoy. Plus live performances by Layla Kardan, Sandra Sahi and Stephon LaMar kept the crowd entertained throughout. The event is open to all residents in Abu Dhabi
Sharjah: Food and live entertainment at Al Majaz Waterfront
For those who couldn't make it to the Expo 2020 countdown activities in Dubai, another option was to head to Sharjah's Al Majaz Waterfront, which is also screening the Dubai event live. Tenants in the apartments in Al Majaz and the rest of Sharjah had access to the waterfront promenade and the family activities there. Clarita de Quiroz, ROOH and Benna Duo also performed live to entertain the audience.
Ajman: Live Music at Ajman Museum
Ajman Museum, which is amongst the best places to visit in Ajman, also joined in the celebrations of the one-year countdown to EXPO 2020. Along with a live broadcast of the Dubai show, performers Hydyy Brown, Arqam "Chakram" Al Abri and Igor "Bu Oleg" Ivanovic were on stage to entertain the crowds.
Fujairah: Performances by Bafoory, Ghaliaa and Aman Sheriff at Fujairah Fort
Residents of Fujairah also didn't miss out on any of the fun activities for the Expo 2020 countdown in Dubai. The Dubai event was broadcasted live Fujairah Fort alongside exciting performances from Bafoory, Ghaliaa and Aman Sheriff.
Ras Al Khaimah: Music, food and fun at Al Qawasim Corniche
Al Qawasim Corniche in RAK is also broadcasted the Dubai Expo countdown event. Nutella Riot and Souldier The Artist performed live for all who are attending. There will also be plenty of other activities around the keep the folks entertained.
Umm Al Quwain: Concerts by As Per Casper and Mohamed Hosny at Umm Al Quwain Corniche
Let's not forget Umm Al Quwain! Visitors at the Umm Al Quwain Corniche to got to watch the Dubai Expo 2020 countdown live and dance to the tunes of As Per Casper and Mohamed Hosny.
