HOW TO GET THE COVID VACCINE IN ABU DHABI
- Register through SEHA app (available on Google Play and App Store) to book SEHA Covid vaccine appointment in Abu Dhabi.
- Wait for the text message with tips and instructions. You will get the message only if you meet the criteria.
- Visit the screening centre.
- Get your vital signs checked at the centre.
- Read the consent form.
- Get the first dose of vaccine.
- Wait 15-20 minutes at the clinic after getting the vaccine to ensure no immediate negative side-effects.
You will get an SMS 15 minutes after the vaccine has been administered. This SMS will contain details of your appointment for the second dose of vaccine and your vaccination certificate.

While Sinopharm and Sputnik V vaccines were being administered earlier, Abu Dhabi has now approved the use of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in the emirate. However, there are currently a select few places to get the jab.

POST-VACCINATION PHASE FOR COVID-19 JABS IN ABU DHABI
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TAKING THE VACCINE?
You may experience minor side effects within the first week after getting the vaccine. These may include:
- Fever
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Redness, swelling or pain at the injection site
- Joint and/or muscular pain
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Shivering
WHAT STEPS TO TAKE AFTER GETTING THE VACCINE?
- Consult a doctor immediately if you experience extreme side effects.
- Follow the instructions issued by your doctor.
- Do not delay or skip your appointment for the second dose of the vaccination. Failure to do so might not give you the necessary protection.

Yes, but they should take the vaccination only after three months have elapsed from the original date of infection. This is based on the body having developed sufficient antibodies during the period of infection.

Yes, but it’s better to wait for at least a month after the influenza vaccine before having the COVID-19 vaccination.
Is it safe to have a different second Covid-19 vaccine than that of my first dose?
Your second dose should be the same type of Covid-19 vaccination as your first dose.

You must follow the precautionary measures issued by the government, whether it’s face mask guidelines or other instructions.
